This would be an interesting experiment. Take the average group of retail LFR raiders, and port them into AQ or Naxx with no coms, no consumables, no preparation. Make their characters level 60, with gear comparable to what we have now.
The chances of them coordinating things and clearing all of the bosses is pretty much zero. But those same groups clear their respective LFR raids in retail most of the time, because it’s nerfed to the point that coms, coordination, preparation, and teamwork is not needed, by design.
You telling me warriors in agility leathers and no shields tanked the bosses? they may not have had deep prot talents but I’m reasonably sure they had some tank gear to run the fight, and fury/prot specs get most of the fury damage while getting the bare minimum to tank a boss. That would quite simply not have been the case if it was truly blind, like in OG wow.
Sort of? LFR requires MUCH less preparation, but I’d say the execution rates are likely the same. Even LFRs wipe if not enough people care about the mechanics, at least until enough people have geared up properly.
Man, the day I learned someone had climbed Mt. Everest I quit hiking. Can’t compete with them. Their accomplishment completely devalued the enjoyment of my hobby. I’m going to go sit in a dark room and sulk.
This is 15 year old content and we know everything about naxxramas from retail WoW…how did you not expect a full instant clear on release? Nothing is new here. Everything could be practiced ahead of time.
Umm…bad news for you…raid progression requires no gear in some cases:
It never succeeded, true classic wow would have to begin with resetting everyone’s memory and having dial up internet with thotbot as your only source of information, and start from the very first release, not patch 1.12.
