Tracking Energy Spend

Anyone have a slick way, weak aura perhaps, for tracking energy spent for Flurry Strikes proc?

This is the weakaura I use.

I use the same weakaura that the person above linked, but I disabled the visual icon in the settings and all of the text numbers except the amount of energy I’ve spent.

I only wanted the energy spent number to show since everything else was too distracting. I moved the number to an easy to see spot, right on top of my healthbar.

That way in a dungeon, if I have 250 energy spent on a trash mob that’s almost dead, I can easily just see the number text and nothing else and refrain from using Tiger Palm until we move on to the next pack, so that I get the full benefits of flurry strikes on a fresh set of mobs. It’s increased my overall damage massively.

If you want to do that (to only show the energy spent text) download the weakaura and go to the settings and set both the icon length and width size to 1. Doing so will make the icon disappear completely.

Then disable “Text 1” and “Text 2” (I actually forget the text number option for the energy spent number, it might be 2 or 3) and it’ll hide all of the other text in the weakaura.

You’ll be left with only the plain white text of the energy you’ve spent, and nothing else. Since flurry strikes build so quickly, you’ll pretty much always have 10 stacks of it by the time you get to 300 energy spent. There’s no need for the icon or the other text IMO, it’s too distracting.

You can then move the energy spent text anywhere on your screen. You can also adjust the text size to make it as big or small as you want.

They announced yesterday in PTR patch notes that they are going to add an aura for Flurry Strikes to make it easier to track the current energy spent.

For now theres a working Weak Aura thats a bit buggy and unreliable, but that should be solved when this aura gets added

Yeah, the weakaura definitely isn’t perfect and sometimes it shows youve spent 300 energy already and flurry strikes still doesn’t proc until one or two tiger palms later.

It’s good they’re adding an aura. Does that mean that the current WA will work better, or will we not need one at all?

I like the weakaura because I can move the energy spent text anywhere on my screen

The current weak aura uses a ton of custom events in order to track energy spent. If we get an aura (buff) that justnsays "X energy spent " we will probably see a new / reworked WA that just uses the normal events of buff tracking.

That’s awesome. Can’t wait until it’s updated

For what it’s worth, it’s not necessarily the WA that is buggy, just that the energy tracking is currently wonky. It will be much better in a few weeks.
