Toxic systems deserve toxic feedback

OP is airing their thoughts based on second hand information, though.

If they were in alpha or beta and could say “I’ve played this, and it is bad because of x” that would be one thing, but instead it’s just:

If we want to add RPG elements back, I’m all for it, but the first step is removing cross-realm, LFD, and LFR.

That’s fair enough. Demanding that they first take a look is a valid point.

If Blizzard knows that’s how the community will respond to the system they’ve designed, is that our fault or theirs?

It’s a developers job to design around their community after all, it’s even a well known phrase in game design, “protect the players from themselves.”

You can’t train millions of individuals to do what you want but you can design the game around how they act.

Why then are we waiting 6+ months to throw tantrums on the forums then? Why wait to the last minute and expect blizz to understand that?

I know they’re not perfect by any means, but the entitlement is unreal on these forums.

As painful as it would be, that would be good. It was a bandaid fix to manage server population issues, and we should move away from it if we can, or go whole hog and add matchmaking for everything.

I’m here for less than an xpac but… They have made themself quite clear… Although I think SC2 is doing just fine, it’s more of a Ion problem.

For starters, because the covenant abilities shown at Blizzcon were totally different and were actually on par with each other, at least somewhat.

The community has these behaviors so ingrained that Blizzard will have to break things before it can be fixed. Otherwise, for the sake of new players, they ought to remove talents and other choices entirely. I don’t think they are going to do that.

I wish they would just get rid of this system on system on system on system on system on system on system crap.

All this borrowed power literally just dividing everybody. Maybe next round blizz we can not have so much borrowed shat.

Do you want to give up on your game? Wouldn’t you rather come to the forums and make a fuss and hope it can be changed to your liking?

Just giving up isn’t what we gamers do, we grind, you should know this.

I actually just randomly had an idea, maybe add rewards to things for deliberately playing them off meta, like complete a mythic+ _ with x class or x talents and the group gets a slightly better rewards, expand and refine that across the game?

All I know is people typically respond better to a reward for going out of their way rather than a punishment for not following the developers vision.

The content in shadowlands is being designed with covenants in mind. You all are applying covenants to what you experience in BFA. You will be able to complete content no matter what covenant you choose. If you decline people because they didn’t choose the covenant Icy Veins told you to pick, that’s a you problem not a system problem.

Especially since the game was fun for the better part of a decade until the new dev team showed up and started ruining it. Wouldn’t it make more sense for the new devs to move on, rather than the playerbase?

Blizzard Have proven time and time again that if they were in a 10 foot hole with a 10 foot ladder and a shovel they would chose the shovel every time. SMH.

And you can clear all the Mythic raids on any spec you choose, I know, I’ve cleared them as a Guardian Druid, but I can tell you for a fact that it would have been 10 times easier and 20 times more fun if I was a Brewmaster.

“You can do it if you walk through hot coals” is not reason to disregard game balance.

That’s no different than any period in history. You can find cuneiform tablets with merchants insulting each other.

Isn’t it amazing how many people there are that don’t know enough about the game to know that this will be a problem for them too?

I’d probably throw one or two if i go Venthyr, but it’s not something i’d want to do regularly for sure.

My understanding is you get nice rewards but no power upgrades are tied to it. So think of it as a free weekly emissary quest for bonus rep and such.

No one would take the time to go to a website and create a thread about a game they hate. This is the game they love, and they simply want it to be better.

We’ve seen the same exact mistakes the devs are making before They seem to be doubling down on them instead of learning from them. That is hella frustrating when you know it’s going to affect you’re gaming experience for the next few years. The toxicity comes from that frustration.
