Doing the same thing now.
The devs arenât going to do anything. During P2 in classic the menethil harbor guards were bugged the entire time ( along with being lvl 40 non elites )and wouldnât even go on the boat. This meant the horde camped at the boat 24hrs a day on some servers, making it impossible to go from one continent to the other without a mage port. Meanwhile the Zepplin guards were 60 elites with ranged attacks, would chase you anywhere and could hit you through the wall. They also left the world buff dispel meta in the game for most of classic, despite how toxic it was.
Blizzard doesnât care about balance or griefing unless it cost them money somehow.
the journey is the reward. as in the journey you take back to land
Gather round young children, for I will tell you a tale of an absolute LEGEND in this game
Once upon a time, a mythical realm known as Stonemaul, there was a crafty and decidedly evil (awesome) shadowpriest named Booms. Booms had a penchant for WPvP you see, and hated farming gold. So he toiled day and night trying to figure out a way to make WPvP profitable for him, and then in a stroke of pure genius, arrived at a solution.
On his new second account, he rolled Stonemaul Alliance, and would camp his alt âBoomsbotâ on the boat in Menethil Harbor.
The gambit was simple, anyone Alliance wishing to ride Boomsâ new boat⌠Must first pay ye toll, lest ye be walking the plank (he typed his ultimatums in pure pirate speak). Any land lubbers that didnât pay the toll to Boomsbot, went right proper into the drink⌠in fatigue waters. The man never farmed gold again.
He was obviously reported countless times for his activities, and there where numerous threads about him on the Stonemaul forums regarding his adventures pirating the high seas. What was NEVER once done to Booms, however, was any sort of official in game punishment by GMs. There be a pvp solution to these troubles, theyâd say. And so it was, and so it is.
Sadly, the man behind the character himself is no longer with us, having passed on IRL I think it was Cataclysm. Genuinely good man, despite his in game persona as a pirate king of menethil. Upon his passing, Blizzard even saw fit to immortalize his personage in game, with an NPC in MoP. So TLDR, any atttempt to ban for pvp on the boats can and should be laughed at, lest they be spitting on the grave and legacy of the one true pirate king.
Had to add a space to the links in the â.comâ to get them past the forum [plural of the late 1930s german political party]

logs, new name who this?
Yaâll need to stay off the PvP servers if you canât handle toxic players and people killing you for no reason other than to be a dick because this behavior is in every single video game that has player vs player
there is difference between being killed and purposley griefing other players to WASTE 30 minutes of there time!!! this isnt a corpse run this TOXIC behavior that is actually against TOS where is a GM when you need one???
Itâs not. Just get off of a pvp server.
it is Against the TOS becuase the player doing the MC has to exploit the wall and in order to get over that wall they have to run and jump the char that is EXPLOITIVE and that is against the TOS!!!
âBehavior that intentionally detracts from othersâ enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable. We expect our players to treat each other with respect and promote an enjoyable environment. Acceptable behavior is determined by player reports and Blizzardâs decision, and violating these guidelines will result in account and gameplay restrictions.â
LOL I used to love MCâing Horde while waiting to get into Ramps in TBC when it launched.
Iâd drop them to their death in the canyon where theyâd be faced with rezzing amongst Elite and high level Orcs.
Good times.
OhâŚand to answer your post. PVP happenedâŚyada, yada.
I would sit at the great lift during vanilla, shadowmelded. MC was so buggy then too. Corpses would fly into the sky sometimes.
Just wait till we are all in Blackrock Mountain and youâre getting thrown into the lava
see that is different then griefing tho the run back from that isnt 30+ minutes long its a 2min run back
there is no other reason to MC players off boats RIGHT before the load screen other then to get a laugh!!! and that is 100% why it is called griefing and is against the TOS
When a preist MCs a person for the sole purpose to have that person jump off the boat!!! is doing nothing but purpsuley hindering the other players game time being played. There is no other reason to do this!!!
Saying that its âPvPâ is not the case. its an abuse the mechicanics in the game used to solely GRIEF anther player and hinder them in the determental way which is against the TOS. CHECK MATE!!!
You guys still waiting for that in game mail? Must be close to a thousand people Iâve sent swimming at this point.
Skill issue, git gud.
LOL! You think a Paladin bubble should be considered griefing? Them being able to bubble hearth your bull crap bothers you that bad? Aww
Context matters.
You mean like that topic about gatekeeping where you replied to me?
When through the topic I said gatekeeping was the wrong word, no one is gatekeeping, I donât PvE and donât care to get into Gnomer, Iâm a PvPer just trying to help explain what others are trying to explain.
Then from you I get a wall of text saying this in the most toxic way. You say basically:
"You donât like gatekeeping, you think its real, you want in my group, you cant get in my group, you want in gnomer, no one is stopping you.
Context matters buddy.
