So I made a routine run for emerald nightmare mythic for the mogs the other day, after getting a good group I got a request from somebody lvl 110 to join. I usually endulge such requests but I didn’t feel like it this time for like the first time. The person got all riled up.
A few moments later a tank joined our group and asked me to give him assist so he could get his “bro” in. I refused and he quickly left. He later whispered me to tell me that he was in fact the main of the 110 who had asked me to join and was planning on getting assist ,waiting to get us all saved to the instance and then kicking everyone out, out of spite.
I got really surprised at the length some people go. And … yeah watch out out there.

Personally I always get a little annoyed when people invite 110s for EN runs. They always, always pull all of the trash after everyone else tries to skip it - and then nobody helps kill it, if they can avoid it.

Exactly and I’m aware of this sentiment

Normally I completely disagree with the word toxic being used but in this case op, I agree with you, that person sounds just spiteful and horrid.

though i also don’t really discriminate between levels for it. that person overreacted a wee bit too much lol

Dude sounds seriously salty as all hell. Always trust your instincts lol

What’s toxic is requiring people to be 120 (I’ve even seen mog runs require ilvl 360) for a run on content that was designed to be beaten at 110.

Usually I’m very accommodating this was like the first time I ever refused one of them.

LOL, really? Of course it’s not. It’s a lot faster if you get a group of 120’s.
That dude could have made his own group.

That is one of the reasons I avoid groups unless I absolutely have to.
Yes, it is antisocial in a social game, sorry.

They are there for mog, not progression.

You know people that make the groups decides who joins regardless of level ilvl class etc. Like some stores can deny people service.

If I wasn’t so paranoid the whole group would be saved for the week after downing the first boss…

OP looks like such a wise Gnome, like he should be sitting on top of a high mountain somewhere waiting for people to come and seek his sage advice.

That’s pretty bad, i’m sorry to hear that the guy was such a jerk…that being said it’s incredibly frustrating to get into a 110 raid as a 110, especially mythic antorus. I know all the fights, and i pull my weight for my level but i can’t get in to a run to save my life without setting it up myself, and most people just have a 110 bias. But he was definitely a dick though

not really, people can invite who they want for what ever reasons they want in their groups, he was making a group for mog hunting not gearing and progression.
if i was making a pug i would have probably invited that 110 when they signed up, but seeing how they reacted to getting declined i’m glad they weren’t allowed into the group.

Lol I wouldn’t invite a 110 to a mog run. I want to get and get out as quickly and efficiently as possible. A 110 is dead weight in a mog run of 110 content.

The 110 who definitely exists and sent Thinkwizzle those whispers was clearly a jerk and really weird, but wasn’t the one being “toxic.” The norm of barring qualified players from legacy transmog runs is, however, an extremely negative behavior that poisons the community and results in stories like the one that started this thread.
