Toxic Environment For Healers

Since returning to WoW the biggest thing I’ve noticed is how Toxic the game has become for Healers. Tanks pulling 2-4 groups at once, despite the healers gear and skill level, and in some cases, entire sections of the dungeon.

DPS pulling and tanking, people not avoiding game mechanics.

And the worst part is, if you have any issue with this type of behavior, YOU’RE kicked from the dungeon/raid/group/etc.

It’s absurd. These kinds of examples, plus the issues with PvP, are exactly the reason I won’t be renewing my Subscription.

I hate this behavior myself. I just leveled this character after neglecting him for some time, and every dungeon was like this. I couldn’t get practice in on this character because the tank would pull half the dungeon, leave me and the other DPS in the dust, and the healer would follow the tank and let everyone else die or get locked out of a boss encounter.

The other night, I logged off after our pally tank and his healer friend let a DPS die, repeatedly tried to kick him for “poor execution angle,” and then admonished the rest of the group for “never going to be able to make it past +2” because we wouldn’t vote to kick a Level 65 DPS who had never done the dungeon before.

Agree 100% that Blizzard should consider ruining others’ gaming experience an offense.

It’s a really strange expectation that one role picks up the slack of everybody else and nobody seems to care.

I really don’t get it.

Luckily healers can drop a bad group and get pretty quick invite to another, while all those DPS that didn’t do jack all to help have to relist and/or wait.

If healers dropped bad groups they’d be dropping more than half their groups. You’re also still subject to a deserter buff or a “you can’t queue yet” message if you’ve been kicked because you don’t think DPS should be tanking or tanks pulling entire sections in LFG.

Healers having decently short queue time isn’t a solution to the problem in this game. Healing WoW is atrocious. and when 1 role in your trinity is complaining again and again, the game will get worse and worse because players don’t want to play. The queues will get longer for DPS (in shuffle, LFG, LFR, etc) like they’ve been doing and blizzard will continue to try and incentivize healers by giving them rewards, which ultimately won’t fix the problems.

People in this game are toxic and blizzard has left WoW to micromanage itself with most aspects including the reporting system. It’s made the game unenjoyable but at this point, it’s so automated and lifeless.

Healing is in one of the worst spots it has been in years… Its horrible and its made worse like this weeks Afflicted affix. All the DPS ignore it 90% of the time and doesnt matter if its on my Disc Priest (I am still gearing up btw) or on my Resto Shaman. I cant get every single affix due to a cleansing spell being on CD or just DPS baiting them on the other side of the map. But once they go off, now my healing spells taking way way way to long. Which, means I cant heal and catch more heat from players…

I think my biggest complaint is that holy paladin actually felt really good and in a good spot. But ever since the round of nerfs it’s become mediocre. I wish they would’ve just buffed other healers instead of nerfing a class that got it’s rework and was performing how it should.

I also wouldn’t say no to getting perks of playing a healer like more crests, a loot roll, something that makes my agony feel a bit more worthwhile. Being able to leave and find another group quickly isn’t a perk, it’s just another roll of the dice that will also probably be chaos.

One. Hundred. Per cent. This.

Exactly I agree… You spent time looking for a key, going to said dungeon, summing everyone there . Then to quit mid dungeon would be a serious waste of time.

The game in general has become toxic. The way people talk to eachother in PUGs shocks me. Crazy how people think for paying a few bucks how they can speak to each other.

Someone please explain to me how healing is any different now than it has been for the past 3-4 expansions.

I see a lot of talk about toxicity, and even though I don’t spend all day in M+ (but apparently more than most people in the thread), I can count on one hand the number of “toxic” experiences I’ve had in dungeons all season. Is that because I don’t really care if I have to handle both afflicted spawns myself? Or because I expect tanks in heroic/leveling dungeons to pull big since they’re not really in any danger of dying anyway?

Explain it to me. Or continue the pity party. /shrug

As the saying goes, one’s own you know what doesn’t smell. I smell a troll.

Ah, of course. Most runs end in “GGs” and “thanks for the key” but I’m the troll. I see. Your insight is appreciated.

I feel like I’m treated like a celebrity or something. People are super duper nice to me and always overly accommodating and appreciative to have a healer at all. I understand that not everyone has my experience, but I just want to say this… I have no less than 5x level 70 Holy Priests (and a bunch more levle 55-69) of varying IO scores and item levels from ZERO IO to 3k+. From around 390’ish ilvl all the way to 446. All of my Priests are treated very well and I’m invited to groups all of the time on any single one of them. I have Blood Elf, Night Borne, Troll, Dark Iron Dwarf, 2x Void Elf, and Mechagnome Priests.

I’m just not seeing any toxicity or hate towards me EVER. Not once… I do not understand these posts.

I’ve been healing a lot this season because it’s really easy to get into a group and in my opinion everything below 16 is challenging, but rewarding so I have enjoyed my healing adventure. As the season drags on though it has gotten a lot worse as dps/tanks simply do not know what to do compared to people who played earlier in the season.

I’ve had a couple toxic experiences which were whatever, and doing as much keys as I do it is kind of expected to run into toxic groups occasionally so they didn’t really drag me down. The worst not necessarily in toxicity, but just despair was doing a Dawn of the Infinite mythic on my disc priest. Dps were doing 30-40k on Iri and couldn’t break earthsurge shield fast enough so even though I was doing 70k hps we were wiping. I would have been fine if they just kicked as it would spare me feeling bad leaving, but the party blamed me for dpsing as disc. Told me to switch holy or get kicked and like okay I’ll stay as disc and just leave, but the whole situation just felt so stupid.

Stop expecting everyone else to play as gods while you yourself suck.

Mechanics do not matter if you can just heal through it.

I really don’t remember the last time I saw someone “toxic”.

Not saying it doesn’t happen but it does seem a bit exaggerated

Honestly having every healing class to 70 and doing keys 11-22s I don’t think I’ve ever personally gotten any toxicity from groups which is surprising because I’ve definitely messed up and bricked keys xD

But usually, Only toxicity if I see it comes from healers in 17s and lower which is still pretty rare, Other than that I would say tanks get the worst of it when routes aren’t the normal routes but most people seem patient

It’s toxic for all roles, classes, specs, races…everyone.

what is this “affix” that dps ignore?
