So pretty much every time i play my warlock i’m always met with verbal abuse / toxicity of summon stones when i am not even there yet, and pretty much spammed by 10 PM’s usually every raid. while you cannot change the community it be easier just to remove summon stone from warlocks all together. IMO they not really needed anymore with flight paths next to raid, and summon stones outside raid available. I don’t think i ever experienced this amount of abuse playing any other class in the game, and pretty much makes me dread logging into my destruction warlock as fun as it is.

1st rule of Warlock. Always be 1st and never be late. Learned this in my younger wow days as a fresh new raider and I applied this to real life and it’s served me well.

aye, best advice in the thread. As a warlock you tend to just learn that while skillwise / ability wise we may be scaling the totem pole - when it comes to getting the raid ready we are #1 due to the summoning stone. More often than not I am the first one in the raid around 8:55 (raids start at 9PM EST) so that I or my other fellow lock raider can drop the stone and begin summoning people straight into the raid. This is the life we chose, we must honor it.

I find it funny btw that blizzard gives the class that is supposed to be corrupt and edgy the dad powers of healthstones and summons instead of the troll abilitys like portals or a bloodlust
It only really bothers me when someone is making no effort to get to the dungeon/raid but instead just constantly asks for a summon. Sometimes I’m not the first one to join the group, and I still have to reach the instance myself.

I for one like having utility and interesting non-combat abilities. I’d sooner see summon stones at dungeons/raids removed than lose my closet.

What you describe is a personal experience, yet you’re asking for a class wide change and a pretty big one at that. You should adapt to the game mechanics like we all do, the other way around is impossible because there would be literally tens of millions of conflicting requests to be fulfilled each day.
As for the spell itself, like the above posters said, a warlock is expected to be there first in order to summon people. It’s always been like that. Rude and demanding whispers/spam should be treated appropriately. Personally if I start getting spammed (rare), I just /raid “I’m not there yet, please stop whispering”.

Warlock portals are mostly troll though, you’ll hit every mechanic on the floor along the way.

Honestly, I have to say I have noticed this phenomenon.
When I played mage it was “portal please” but now that I play lock it is often “closet, b****”. I’m not really offended because I primarily raid with my guild and that is just how we interact with each other. Someone rudely demands a summon and I might reply with “Gee, I have to summon you and carry your scrub dps? What exactly do you bring to the table again?” On the rare occasion I encounter this in pugs I tend to play it the same way, although I’m not an amazing player so sometimes I eat my words about carrying their dps.
I guess I could take it a step further and refuse to summon unless they say the magic word, but at the end of the day that just delays the raid and I’d rather do what I can to get the ball rolling.
Bottom line for me is people can only offend you if you let them. Bust out that demon skin and take it in stride.
Just tell them you’re on your way and ignore everything after that. If you pug raids frequently(something I don’t recommend) then make a macro to let people know you’re on your way.
You should consider writing a /dnd macro to push before raid so you can automatically insult everyone that whispers you. Just saves time.
Remove one of the most useful things about Warlocks from the game because people annoy you? If you are too lazy to drop a stone, then at least go next level rude and get better at ignoring people.
