Well yeah, because that’s a pretty terrible way to balance a spec when damage auras exist. If a spec is heavily underperforming, which of the following seems more logical:
A) Buff Mastery to the moon and throw off stat weights, while also ensuring that anyone without that newfound mastery heavy BIS gear is even further behind.
or
B) Tweak damage auras.
Surely most people would prefer the latter.

I spoke for MM then like I do BM now. MM played better in BFA than it does now. Let’s not forget the main reason people play MM is that it CAN parse higher in terms of DPS… 90% of the MM hunters cannot out parse a good BM hunter when they have the massive advantages that they have now.
People all want to pretend they are good players when in reality you may run into an actually good player once a month. If your not parsing orange more often than not, you are not a good player, you are simply average if that.
I skipped most of BFA entirely. But for the record, it doesn’t really matter to me if I’m personally affected by a spec not doing well. I want the Hunter class as a whole to do well, you know?

BM is not a very good choice for high rating PVP the way things are now. With pets as squishy as they are now, against most classes they will be murdered in seconds and you will be cc’d or occupied with the 4 sec pet rez while they murder you and your teammate(s).

Man I don’t know about that, the WoW community is always toxic it doesn’t matter towards what. It’s always been that way, but if anything I get respect from my key groups because I easily keep up with our MM hunters In my guild as BM. I am not really having this problem. I haven’t had a single group kick me because they noticed I was BM and not the meme spec MM, if anything they’re content because I provide a solid heroism option. Once I get my damage going they see BM is not behind MM at all.
Try joining a pug heroic denathrius as BM, unless you are in a guild group like i am you are instant kick since you cant hit the range add in p2 unless you disengage to the platform which is risky since you can still get targeted by impale. So I do believe the post made by this guy however the spec is not dead like he says it is.
Not to mention that we have massive flaws in pvp due to the rez pet change that they did for shadowlands.
I don’t disagree with this at all, but BM suffering from pet AI has been a problem since Vanilla. Now the Denathrius fight where BM sucks their thumb is definitely a problem with how they design their encounters and not with the class itself.
As far as PvP goes it is such a disgusting change what they did to our pet Ress, especially in an expansion where our pets are the easiest it’s ever been to kill them. I am even having a problem with it in Torgast where my pets get 2-3 hit by elites. It’s absolutely terrible having to waste our turtle shell literally our only defensive to just be able to bring our pet back in PvP. For a spec that solely revolves around their pets ? The resurrect change seems so stupid to me.
This. Their “if it’s not the best, it must be crap” thinking has to go.
It completely boggles their minds that I wouldn’t kick a mediocre spec out of a raid because it’s being piloted by a friend.
It’s been like that for years, if your class wasn’t part of the MDI team you’re not “Meta” that toxicity has been in the game since vanilla it’s nothing new. Your class could be within 1% of a difference, doesn’t matter you’re not meta. Just make your own groups with people you like and enjoy their company man, you don’t have to deal with the toxicity.
This is a huge issue that Blizzard has not even tried to solve. That’s the point I am trying to make. The spec doesn’t event work right and no fix for weeks now on a known problem with Sire same for the barbed shot conduit that doesn’t take the full second off like it says in the description. I never want to see any spec suffer. All should be competitive with with 5% of each other. As it is now there is a 20-25% dps difference I mean really… it’s not a big ask to ask a game company to balance the game.
