Toxcity and elitism

Wow, the toxicity and elitism have gotten out of hand in the last few weeks. We have now gotten to the point of instead of messaging someone and talking with them we just flat out and call people out right in from of a group. Seriously just because someone is low on the DPS meters doesn’t mean we should embarrass them like they are a red-headed stepchild in front of a whole group. All that does is get others to join in and the next thing you know you have people being defensive.

Then Blizzard wonders why most players do not want to do normal or higher raids or even mythic dungeons.

We got to that point a very long time ago.

Telling someone their damage is low isn’t toxic…

Find a more respectful guild.

It’s not my job to hand hold and coddle you and teach. I for the most part do not care about your feelings.

Know your crap or get out.

While I personally try never to call anyone out specifically…it is silly to pretend that the entire group doesn’t see you at the bottom of the DPS list.

I’m in a stupid casual raiding guild because my schedule doesn’t permit much better, we aren’t allowed to discuss meters. RL will say general things like “We aren’t meeting the DPS checks” and then each person’s meters and logs will speak for themselves.

I’m not a fan of it, but these types of guilds exist.

Join a decent dad guild if you don’t want super toxic gen Z people sperging at you.

My brother in christ, there’s probably about 6 Gen Z playing this game ATM including myself.

Oh yeah, calling people out for their performance is a no-no in my guild.

This isn’t regarding Guilds. This is just in Pug groups. My guild is nonexistent as far as members go (Meaning I only have like 3 active members) So if I want better gear I have to go into pug groups.

There is no toxicity in Ba Sing Se.

Then there’s your issue.

Your damage is low, we have to bench you.

this has been going on for nearly 20 year, it isnt new. it just festers more and more until people just quit or move on to open world where you arent abused for every single thing and people wonder why we cant get new blood or vet returners in the game

That’s actually not true. Gen Z has a huge premise in retail WoW. I’ve been called a boomer like 100x in DF alone and I’m 32 rofl

There is a very high chance they were your age.

Moving forward, in this game, using the models developers keep insisting on is not going to be viable sooner than later. Other games are already trailblazing the future.

And while Blizzard has become even more and more solo friendly, they’re not leading the way. We need to get rid of this arcanic idea that toxic cesspools of human beings are the gatekeepers over gear progression.

Gear progression should happen in the open world. You can even put raid bosses out there with difficult mechanics. People can run up to the raid and learn the mechanics that way without having to commit to abusive people to learn first.

Lots of things could be implement and they should.

Other games even have NPC parties you somewhat control. This is the way to go. But the idea of locking the best gear behind some of the worst human beings in the world is not going to work for much longer.

Let the toxic cesspool community go for mounts cosmetics and titles if they want to become the nth percentile of timer chasing.

Get gear progression out of that system.

The average person couldn’t give 2 spits how they make someone else feel so long as they get their own gratification, and will never take responsibility for their own actions.
