Tough to defend you, Blizz

I mean really. Any attempt to defend anything you do right now is met with stiff opposition and hate. Not just on these forums, either. In almost any outlet at all. Facebook, in real life to friends, everywhere.

Anything I say positive about you at all gets met with hostility. Instantly called fanboy, regardless of the logic or reasoning presented. It doesn’t matter.

I remember a time when you said the name Blizzard and people’s faces lit up and everyone talked about it with love and admiration.

Where did it all go wrong?

Bingo to the second. I was just going to type when Ghostcrawler was making the game you didn’t get a lot of this.

It’s just so crazy to me. I can’t even talk about D4 to friends because they are immediately turned sour by the mere mention of Blizzard. These are the same people who used to go to the bar and get drunk and talk about their adventures in WoW for hours until they passed out.

Have you considered there’s a reason for that?

That’s why Destiny 2 withdrew from Activision,

Since then it’s greatly improved

PS: Subjective opinions while civil can still be condemned & you’ll be shut down. I am waiting to be shut down anytime now lol, whatever Blizzard/Activision…

This is why I tend to just not care at all what other people think about anything.

There really isn’t anything ‘wrong.’ At this point it is just the way things are, the sign of the times if you will.

There is always a group, big or small, that will bandwagon against anything you can think of. Any infraction, big or small, will be the ultimate infraction to some people.

Their voices are amplified by effortless communication of fake outrage. At this point its just all noise. Turn your filter on, try to find what is real.

Just general conversations about upcoming games, what’s new, what we’re all playing, ect. Regular conversation things. Even fully related games, like talking about mmo games or arpg games; but daresay you bring up a Blizzard title you get instant looks of disgust/hatred. O.o

It’s been popular to hate on blizzard for a while now, where have you been?

Millions of people play some form of Blizzard game but you’re generally only going to see the grumpy ones on the forums.

It’s always been weird to me that when something gets too big it becomes popular to hate it. >.>

Most anti blizz / activ crowd are Fallout 76 fanbois and rabid praisers of EA loot boxes.

No citation needed.

Honestly, it is okay to love Blizzard and still be critical of what they do. Its actually normal and helps keep them grounded better then other companies, i.e: ncsoft, bethesda/ZoS, ect.

Never tried to defend Blizzard. Decide whether to support the company or not. All corporations will have something in their background that people don’t like. You have to decide on your own which you support. Nothing more, nothing less. If someone else says they don’t buy that company’s products then leave it at that.

I’m not even talking the forum. I’m talking about in everyday conversation, other platforms, media outlets, articles, ect.

It’s more along the lines of someone irrationally telling you blizz games suck – followed with you asking why, and getting a non-response non-argument about feelings. This or that was “better back in my day”

Literally no matter what you say or do, the hate just flows out; and not just from one person. I find myself often getting piled on.

I am not even intentionally trying to defend Blizz. Just trying to figure out the rationality behind their thoughts and hate. But it feels like the cloud is so thick you cannot get anything logical but “blizz bad”

The Blizzard we knew and loved is dead. Most of the founding staff has left. Mike Morhaim, who was a passionate nerd with a love for making games, couldn’t stomach where the company was going and bounced.

For years, activision was pretty hands off with regards to Blizzard then they started doing things like having their financial reps show up at the Blizzard annual party. This profit focused behavior naturally pushes away those who are game focused. Not to say that a gaming business shouldn’t make money, but they always make literally the most money by focusing on great games. For many, many years, the biggest PC launch was always a Blizz game, record broken only by a new Blizz game. They didn’t need to monetize harder, they needed to let Blizz keep on keeping on.

As this spills through to all areas of their business, their normal shady/greedy business mindset becomes revealed to a broader spectrum of players, and non players.

There is no more Blizzard. There is only Activision Blizzard.

Um…he never made the game. He was lead system designer which in his own words were “Systems design specifically is everything that is not level, story, quest, PvP or encounter design. My team handles everything from mechanics to items to trade skills to achievements to UI design.”

Also dear lord the amount of irrational hate that man got here.
