Can someone explain to me how touch works on bosses? I seem to be getting less damage then I do on trash, even when I use it at the same hp. I’m guessing that by "stronger creatures’ its referring to bosses, but I cant find the information on the actual interaction. Before someone explains, yes I know that it does more damage when the health is at a certain threshold.
If the boss has sub 10% hp you can use it but it will be reduced in damage. If the boss has less life then you then you get your full hp value out of it.
Example a boss with sub 10% hp of 1,000,000 hp you can use ToD and get like a 20-30k hit on the boss. But a if you waited until the boss had 84k hp (what ever your in raid hp is) around what a raiding monks hp will be then your ToD will hit for 84K.
It’s just how wow’s weird math works for monks. But on a good note you can cheese your ToD damage by hitting fort brew and a stam potion before hitting it to make it hit even harder because of that same bad math used to calculate ToD damage.
Honestly wish it was back the way it was in WoD. I forget if it was the same in legion. Basically ToD = Your Max HP. No weird reduced damage. Maybe on a raid boss could you use it more than 1 time but dungeons or normal content its pretty sub par of an execute imo.
i feel like it needs to be off the gcd. The difference between 60k and 20k damage is less than a second. Yes i know this is bad for pvp, but pvp is garbage and i dont care.
