Totem Macro Question - Canceling and Placement

Found quite a few threads on the topic, but no solutions.

Is there a way to dismiss or cancel a totem without clicking on it? Use Case: Gripping someone with Static Field Totem and instantly canceling it.

Second, is there a way to drop your totem on a target? I have just been dropping surging on myself, but is there a way to drop surging on the target automatically? I know there are mouse overs and what not, but that’s not what I’m looking for.

Appreciate if anyone has a solution.

Edit: Seems this is the best solution for the first.

You can macro in the following to cancel the first totem in use.

/click TotemFrameTotem1 RightButton 1

Not perfect, but gets the job done.

With totem on target not if target isn’t you.

About first thing yes. It’s possible. I remember I used such macro in MoP when there was that talent reducing CD of a totem if it was destroyed so I did it with Tremor but I’ll have to do the research.

My question is why would you like to cancel it if people have to destroy it to leave the Static Field so you can hold them a bit longer?

Yea, the UI change broke that. :frowning:

Grip > Thunderstorm

On maps like EOTS or Arathi Basin it’s really good. Quite literally the difference between a win and loss if you can get even one person knocked off. In this way, you can grip people out of the inner ring on EOTS in mid and then knock them off.

What I have been doing for consistency is Static > Projection > Lasso > Thunderstorm. In some cases I just time it or just manually click and cancel it. Not ideal at all and not smooth.

The solution I just posted though seems to work well. Will do some testing in bgs.
