Tortollan ring or trinket?

I have done that emissary on myself and six alts. All have 445 rings but one low trinket. I have gotten 7 rings in a row. :pensive: The turtles must hate me. :turtle:

I know it is not an option if you dislike bgs, but if you don’t mind them 445/460 trinkets can be obtained, think they are the 5 th conquest bar filled, can be done in a week or so casually.

I just got the exact same unique equip ring I got last time this emissary quest was available. I could use ANYTHING else. It was literally the only useless item I could have received.

My newer alt just got the trinket. so far 1 throw-away ring for this one and one nice upgrade trinket.

Have you tried conquest gear? you can chose from 4 sometimes from 6.

This is why the only turtle quest I find satisfying is the one where I eat them as a crab.

it’s blizzard malware that recognizes exactly what you don’t need, and then assigns it as loot. they can’t have you getting off that hamster wheel, now can they?

I can go one better. I did it last night. I had one 445 ring on already, but both trinkets and one ring were much lower.

As I was finishing up, I thought, what’s the bet it will be an identical ring to what I already have, and therefore unusable? Turned it in, and…

Boom. Identical ring to what I already had on, unique-equipped of course.

So far I’ve gotten all rings except for one trinket - and luckily the little guy needed it badly.

Interesting you call it malware. I call it spiteware. The ‘reward’ system in this game feels more vindictive than anything else and is anything less than random. :frowning:

Thanks to the new world bosses rings aren’t really a problem but trinkets are. Sadly the ones you get from the emissary aren’t too good but they work fine on characters around 445-450(ie alts not doing any high keys/raiding).

Tortollans - always a ring. Six chars through it every damn time and it’s always a ring.

Same with the equipment emissaries. 90% of the time its wrists, and the other 10% it’s feet.

Same for the rare weapon emissary. Mage has every artifact appearance and nearly every tint for its Legion artifact weapons, so of course it gets wands that can’t use any of them. Sometimes an off-hand to make not going with the wand instead of a lower-ilevel staff or moggable one-hander that much harder.

But again the system should check to see which you “need” before “randomly” awarding. imo
