Longtime Hunter coming back to the class after a long break. I keep hearing people say that MM is pulling ahead of BM right now and that the spec feels really good. What’s the truth in this?(for the sake of raiding normal heroic if I’m really feeling froggy.)
Well, BM is fluid and surv is a lot of fun and topping dps. Still need to test MM, but i’ve seen nothing but dread on that side of the bow
Mm is s bit clunky as it doesnt not flow, however because of the way MM scales it will pass BM with the start of the next tier. Ilvl 400 will put just the raw throughput on MM above bm.
Granted BM does scald with weapon damage however it only gets about 60% of the return as MM. For instance at 380 ilvl if you get a bow that is 100 more DPS than what you have you get about 700 more DPS as bm, however that same upgrade is close to 1200 DPS for MM.
So what y’all’s saying is “Keep running BM for now while we are ahead and switch to MM next raid tier.”

I’m rocking Survival pretty fun spec actually, so glad I stuck it out
BM is the clear choice right now. We don’t know how it will turn out for future tiers but even if MM pulls ahead BM will still be desirable due to the mobility. We saw this dynamic in ToS and ABT last expansion.

If you’re really doing to it clear normal and maybe clear heroic it truly doesnt matter which spec is better it comes down to what you have more fun with.
You’re not doing cutting edge stuff where you need all that extra dps.
everyone is saying survival… It’s a melee spec when there are already too many of them. DPS wise, survival… 2nd is between MM and BM. They’re extremely close in DPS. BM is more mobile, and MM is stiff. I’ve noticed that MM tends to be targeted a lot more often. I stay BM because MM is intentionally pointed at. Too many melee
You can pull the same and maybe more damage sometimes as marksman, it’s just a lot harder to do it than BM. Play what you enjoy. Some fights like myrhic ghuun with a ton of movement I could not see myself playing MM. that isn’t to say it’s not doable though.
