Torn between Arms and Fury

My main is a fury warrior (this is a new toon). Been messing around with arms since the buffs and I really enjoy the feel of it. It’s a little more calculated and abilities actually feel like they hit and do damage. Problem is I have 4 different loadouts right now (single target, multi, hybrid, and pvp). It gets annoying switching constantly and there is a lot to keep track of/maintain.

I always prefer simplicity, but on the opposite end you have fury which is very spam heavy and repetitive. I’m most experienced with raging blow build. Is there some other pve loadout that’s less spammy and a little more interesting?

I’m not a hardcore high end player. My highest key on main is a +12 and I normal raid only. Just want to be somewhat competitive and useful in group, not looking to minmax.

So the gist of what I’m asking is:

  1. Is there a fury pve spec that’s more engaging (and competitive) than raging blow build?
  2. Is there an arms build I can use for pve content that is competitive and doesn’t have all that added bloat?

Fury.

Peak unga, maximum bunga.

WoWhead did have a build that was pretty balanced between Single Target and Multi Target.

The main thing was that it maxxed out Cleave to replace Slam in the rotation as Cleave actually hits for more than slam, plus Dreadnaught increase the damage of Cleave like it does Mortal Strike. So that was a group/single target build that seemed pretty decent.

The build also maximizes Execute so you can get big Execute hits through out a fight with sudden death procs.

  1. There’s a SMF fury build (dw 1handers) that some people enjoy, but it’s probably not more competitive than the standard RB build.

  2. The hybrid build mentioned above is pretty good for most types of content.

For the content you’re looking to do, op, you can run pretty much anything you want. Find something you enjoy and stick with it.

What bloat we talking about for arms? I smash overpower, mortal strike and execute aside from stuff like spear and other CDs.

Compared to my Ele, my arms warrior feels like it has empty bars. Lol.

Didnt fury get really nice buffs ?

Fury is driven by bandwagon effect, Arms feels better. But none of you is ready for this conversation. :eyes:

Both are great. I personally prefer arms just because it’s an easy spec to learn,
but hard to master. It’s simple.

Both are great arms is slightly better, slightly.

Havoc Demon Hunter or Rogue.

I originally played arms back in the day on my first warrior. I switched to fury when i made this warrior. Now in DF ive mostly played it as fury. I spent a few days on arms and while I like the pace of the spec I dont really like the fablntasy other than bladestorm. Fury feels like a spec that they used fantasy to drive the development of it. Rather than arms that feels like they dont really have a coherent design idea for it. They just give it abilities that does specific things, but they dont play into eachother very well imo

Fury i think has better overall design. Arms is almost like a “ok we did fury and we did prot, so theyll be fine” kind of like frost dk

Rend/thunderclap, ignore pain, and sweeping strikes. I feel like I always gotta keep those up as arms warrior especially when I’m fighting numerous mobs (which most of the time I am). Combine that with switching between specs constantly during dungeons for st/aoe. It’s exhausting lol.

I have one spec for fury pve that pretty much does it all, just isn’t super engaging. Feels like playing frost dk. I heard about this onslaught build so I’m looking into that.

Ignore Pain and Sweeping Strikes are off global though for Arms. Rend isn’t exactly 100% necessary, though I do have it and I don’t use Thunderclap.

Rend is used on the off chance nothing procced. The bleed build can be a bit bloated though if you go the full bleed route.
