A few chests and pots with companion xp inside scattered around, they’re all the same and boring. Rarely get any of those popup skills to use.
Torghast at least had them all in the same place, now we gotta fly around the entire map to 13 different entrances? My god
Torghast areas were too big. Making the experience for classes with low mobility a nightmare.
I enjoyed the rogue-like power creep of Torghast far more than Delves. But I don’t think Delves are trying to be a “better Torghast”. It seems to be like they’re a solo mythic+ alternative.
Blizzard has been pushing for solo content for a decade now. We recently got solo shuffle rated arena. We now have solo queue Rated Battlegrounds. We just got solo follower dungeons. In this vein, we now have a solo Mythic+ sort of content. The +8 delves reward your highest vault ilvl, correct?
It’s not supposed to be a new Torghast. Comparing them is a little disingenuous. Remember the Horrific Visions of Nzoth content in BFA? Where you needed cloak upgrades (e.g. Brann) and ran around small instanced areas picking up treasures then killing a boss?
They’re more like Visions than Torghast.
This was my main criticism of Torghast. Way too much empty space, was damn near a walking simulator at points.
But now you have to travel to 13 different entrances around the expansion.
It’s almost like old fashioned gaming. “You mean I actually have to go there? OMG?!?”
Wait till you can do higher level and get better gear from it. Or don’t and just come to the forums to say youre bored until the big 3 start and you never have to step foot in one unless you want to.
well it is sunday today so you can troll and bait.
Torghast was bad game design.
Delves is good game desgin.
lets see you talk in 6 weeks from now. when it awards 603 gear.
I would rather put my balls through a belt sander than have to run snorghast again, your opinion is wrong and you should feel bad for saying it.
Nah man delves are way better and honestly more interesting.
You don’t have to go to follower, normal, or heroic dungeons. Why do we have to walk to solo delves?
You shush! No way were they too big.
To each his own.
How so? So far for me they’re practically identical with Brann talking the entire time.
To me they feel way different. No walking around massive areas, simple goals and simple end. Plus Brann cooks you food to eat and has a dino pet.
getting a ton of torghast popup abilities was awesome, it didn’t hold my interest for a year but it was certainly more interesting than these little brann sidequest dungeons scattered through the entire continent.
I hated it with a passion, especially doing it as a healer.
Right now they are capped on their rewards, as you are ilvl capped at level 3 and using a key would be a massive waste. Once they are fully unlocked, we can then start to judge their real value as a solo gearing path.
Ive only done a few so far, but Im really not impressed with them. I hope they get better.
does anyone actually care about delves? If so, why? Real answers only, not “I enjoy them :3 that’s my opinion so it can’t be wrong”
You didn’t enjoy torgast or islands, or digs
nobody is doing follower dungeons, you’d all rather complain about tanks pulling everything in 5mans.
So let’s get real here. You didn’t like the predecessors to delves, you don’t like delves either.
Why are you here and why are you talking?
Hot take here. I enjoy both Torghast and Delves AND Island Expeditions for different reasons.
Torghast had the better moment to moment, roguelike gameplay
Delves have better level construction, more varied objectives and locales, and actual plot
Delves overall fixed what was wrong with Torghast, but also lost what made Torghast appealing in the first place. If the devs combined the good elements of both they’d have a genuinely great bit of side content
