Firstly, Torghast is fun. I really love it, and it’s the perfect avenue for me and my two brothers to play in.
So in a sense, it’s rewarding simply because it’s fun.
But why isn’t there any loot in here?
Will they add loot? Why not at the end, put a chest, like a mythic+ chest. I’m not asking for gear comparable to high-end raiding and mythic+, but just item level upgrades.

There will be no loot, beside the ashes for Leggos, sadly.

What’s lame is if you fail no matter what floor you’re at you get absolutely nothing.
Completely put off by it. I’ll slog through to get my legendary and then never ever go back

the rewards are prob going to come in later tier in form of acheivements/mounts etc
blizz most likely dont want to unlock all the floors and have people whine its too hard while undergeared

As it is now, Torghast looks like a simulator, you go, test your metrics, and leave without any sense of character progression. The ashes are just bland rewards in that matter.

And remember that the vendor in the maw sells upgrades for torghast that makes it easier…
Extra deaths, more power options, etc…
Torghast also gives legendary powers, cosmetics, and mission table followers…so its more than just ashes as a reward.
One other reward, The ability to mount in the maw is at higher torghast levels.

It should give you decent chunks of Stygia as well. Having a non-gated way to farm sockets and legendary powers would be neat while not being game-breaking.
Also, doing actual activities in the Maw isn’t fun, so just farming Stygia in Torghast would be nice.

We wouldn’t want casuals to get loot now would we.

I would agree but like soul ash it should be tied to clearing a layer for the first time that week.
Youll want to come back for the mount (:

Its the way you unlock legendaries. I think Blizzard thought that would be enough.
Until you want to upgrade your legendary ilvl or you want another one for a different spec or build.
No loot in torghast other than the legendary sands
As others have said it’s basically a simulator of sorts and there will be rewards to come.
They had gotten the complaint that gear comes to easily so they dialed things back a bit.
What I’ve found really enjoyable is going in with different team comps or even solo to try out different builds on my spec and see what insanity can happen as I collect anima powers. And every time I’ve gone into torghast the layers have been slightly different either by layout, rares, buffs, powers, and enemies as a whole. So it’s cool. Plus we’ll need to do it for calling quests as well. So in due time. Everything is slow the first few weeks to let people level and gear up via dungeons.

If you want to get a mount for the maw, you have to complete all 8 stages of the twisting corridors (18 floors tower that you unlock when completing all 8 dificulties in regular torghast).
Don’t need a mount there if I never come back…

So Torgast in itself is purely the way for us to get Soul Ash (and a few other things like memories for legendaries) so we can craft our legendaries. At the moment its a bit eh because we don’t really get enough soul ash to do anything with it as well as the fact only 3 layers are unlocked at the moment.
The real place you wnt to do over and over is the twisting corridorswhich is the place with all the pets/toys/cosmetics/titles etc. The twisting corridors is purely cosmetic but much more vast than torgast, I can’t wait for it.
I do however agree that we should get Stygia (but not as much as the maw), as well as little items we can use to increase our item levels by 3 for example (up to a cap).

Exactly. Blizzard wanted me to hate it and I do, and I don’t do content I hate. Must be working as intended

The worst part about no loot is in beta you received ash and a purple place holder boss loot item from each end boss which turned into nothing but items from defeating certain layers. Single cosmetic armor pieces would make it rewarding enough to have people run it after completing the weekly ash limit

If it had cosmetic stuff I would actually bother doing more than the absolute bare minimum.
Somehow Blizz still doesn’t understand that type of stuff is the biggest motivation for a lot of people.
