This new scoring system is silly to start with, but on a practical note, it’s harder for tanks and probably healers as well, particularly since we can’t stack powers.
Annihilator 20 pts - kill floor 5 boss in 20 secs.
Daredevil 10 - defeat 2 elites within 10 secs.
Executioner 10 - kill floor 5 boss in 40 secs.
Hunter 15 - keep elites from reaching 4 stacks of unnatural power(?)
These are pure DPS checks and account for 55 bonus points. The only way a tank can accomplish these is if you do a much lower layer than your ilevel. If we can’t get these bonuses, then we have to check off virtually every other item on the list to make 5 stars, making torghast even more tedious than ever.
I suggest changing some of the scoring bonuses to be more fair for all classes:
Annihilator - changed to award 5 points each time you evade or block an aoe or special skill of bosses, up to 20 points.
Executioner - changed to award 5 points each time you use an interrupt ability on any elite or boss, up to 20 points.
Hunter - changed to award 5 points each time you use a CC ability on an elite, up to 20 points.
Collector - delete this and add 10 more points to just base completion.
These changes would allow all classes to get these bonuses, instead of just dps classes. Another benefit is that it will help players practice skills for dungeons and raids, instead of just wasting our time breaking urns for the sake of breaking urns.
I’m not learning yet another system to run Torghast. This new system and timer was not needed. I’ll never touch the place again, nothing but a new mythic+ game now.
There will be whole new guides on how to skip 80% of the place and still get what you need and which ways to race the fastest thru it just like for mythic+. What a joke now.
There are achievements tied to getting 5 stars but what he mentioned specifically are just part of Torghast’s new scoring system. Basically, you get points based off how well you do your run, and get stars from there. What he mentioned are bonuses that can help out.
I think they should just get rid of all the new torghast systems. I don’t see why they added it in, why not just balance the classes and mobs in there like most people were asking for. Imagine what they could’ve done if they didn’t waste time on this.
It’s a matter of opinion, but I think the new Torghast is far superior to the 9.0 version. I would guess they added the new system to improve on a system that was already poorly received.
Of course, they will never be able to make everyone happy.
That’s fair I just don’t understand why add it. Why make a dollar general mythic plus in torghast? Why make a timer if it doesn’t do anything besides help you get 5 stars? Remove the timer, remove the floor completion %, remove the new ability you get. for me I enjoyed setting my own pace and trying to make my class as op as possible not get punished because I took a epic power and forgot a single pot they put in a corner of a random floor.
Solely my opinion…but for once Blizzard gave us options and multiple paths to success like we have been asking for.
Want to go fast, great have some points.
Want to go slow but break everything, great have some points.
Want to get a ton of anima powers, great have some points.
Want to get super overpowered and kill the boss in 20 seconds, great have some points.
Etc…
you’re looking at it wrong. it’s not a punishment, it’s a bonus. just like picking up 5 stacks of obleron armaments. it’s a potential source of points if you don’t get them elsewhere. don’t feel like finishing with 500 phantasma? just go faster!
But why? Why can’t I just play it how I want I don’t wanna do it fast, I don’t care about the phantasma, I don’t want to always have to go after stacks of phantasma, I just wanna go into torghast and mess around, test to see how many mobs I can pull before I die. I use to enjoy torghast when I was bored it was always something to do. Now it’s just plan, plan, plan, timer, timer, timer.
I would have rather they just added more variety to the scenery and way more rewards in Torghast instead of using their time coming up with this scoring system. They could have used that time to work on other things. The problem with torghast was that it all looked the same and the rewards were non existent.
