Torghast Rewards

Torghast actually has me excited moving forward as a concept they can continue to expand and iterate on. There are certainly some problems right now, and it’s way more fun on some classes compared to others.

But what I want to talk about is the rewards from it. Having it exist for no reason but to get Soul Ash I think is not good at all. I don’t think wow benefits from having game modes that are 100% contained and serve no greater purpose besides the one thing they are designed for. I feel like WoW has been it’s been best when you have multiple avenues and game modes to meet your goals and can choose the ones you like. Especially if at some point in a future patch we are back to where we might spend a more significant amount of time in Torghast. A few things that would make it feel better for me.

  1. Let every end floor “boss” drop some Anima. I’d much rather get my weekly anima in here instead of doing boring world quests. Also for people who might just prefer to do Torghast instead of other content this allows them to meet their anima needs. If you don’t like Torghast all the current methods to get anima would still be there.

  2. I think a weekly gear reward might still be appropriate in here the first time you kill the boss in each wing every week. Really this just ties into my comment of Torghast feeling too self contained to me. If someone really likes Torghast and wants to spend time there I think they should still have some method of normal character progression. Even if it’s just that they dislike Torghast the least out of the options available to them.

I agree. Though I, too, find it quite exciting, it seems like a no-brainer to add in cosmetic stuff like pets, mounts, transmog, etc. And, I agree on adding anima and even other relevant currencies, too.

Like, literally every other activity in this game results in you earning pets, mounts, transmog and achieves.

Then here’s this big old new thing we came up with, its pretty new and unique, it’s awesome, huh? Now, wait 'till you hear what you can win in there! You ready? Are you sure!?

…Soul Ash!

Yay…

Edit: I was reading about Twisted Corridors right now … so yes, it appears there’s one each of a mount, a pet, a title, and a toy. A fair start; I still stick to the idea of amping the rewards way, way up.

I enjoy Torghast but would have appreciated knowing to do it before you do anything else for the day. I couldn’t progress because the assassins kept getting me.

Also frustrating that as a holy priest you have to do Torghast before you can get your legendary, but you can’t be successful at Torghast until you have your legendary. I don’t like having to be carried through content that should be tuned for solo.

Another suggestion - lighten up on the jailer’s eyes during holidays and other times when working people have more time to play. Maybe make his eyes based on weekly time so those who can’t play during normal working hours have time to make real progress.

I have played this game for 9 years and really like it - but some parts of this expansion aren’t fun at all but are essential if you want to raid.

The main issue with adding more rewards to torghast is the same issue with increasing m+ rewards. There are no lockouts, you can run a few hundred of them each week if you really wanted to.

Personally i want torghast to be an alternative to the maw for rep and stygia, cosmetic rewards are cool too.

There is time. Regardless of how good the reward may or may not be. You can’t convince me that more than a handful of players really can sit here and play the game for 40 hours a week, every week.

I certainly know for me and my friends that I play with that we have to make smart choices with what we do with our time, and hope to succeed at whatever we elect to go do.
