Torghast, now I hate it

So, I kind of enjoyed Torghast the first few weeks, but after doing it week after week I hate it more and more. I hate it so much that I decided to run it level 4 or 5 max and get fewer soul ash every week.

I only run it on layer 3. I’m never going higher until it stops taking an hour a run.

Took me an hour on level 6 earlier to get to level 6 and then the boss was impossible for me to kill (yes I did all the mechanics right). In my guild every single one of us hate Torghast. Why would blizz think it’s fun ?

I stopped all together. I got my legendary. I’m done.

I just got it upgraded to rank 4 so I very well may also stop. I’m probably not continuing the story there either since they put the next part in the stupid twisting corridors mode.

I spent all afternoon in that stupid twisting corridors place, only to end up dying on floor 18 to a raid boss. Anduin can rot in that place because I’m not going back.

That twisting version is awful. I like how they attached the main storyline to it too.

You see the missing skills too? They have “placeholder” spots for missing abilities. But game is still in beta so it’s ok…

This is exactly why I’m not doing it. It takes me an hour already for layer 3. I’m not spending my entire time between work and bed JUST for this one thing.

Pretty much the point. It’s not an endless grind. Once you’re satisfied with the legendary or more than one legendary you have…Stop running it. There is no other reason.

It’s for cosmetic rewards. In regards to the questline you can do the first six floors and reset.

It’s one time only. You can complain about them attaching the questline there which is fine, but the twisting corridors is for the challenge and cosmetic rewards.

I thought it wasn’t the point to just get legendary tho. They touted it as this great new fun feature in the game that you will do. I thought I’d want to do it more for fun aspect, guess I was wrong.

This is islands all over again.

This is exactly the complaint lol. I get the rest. People can go nuts with the challenge part all they want.

It gets very grindy very quick. Personally, I have yet to see any real need for it. The legendaries are nice and all but not critical. For how I play my holy priest, there is only 1 memory that it would be nice to have but wouldnt really help me all that much. Sure, the ilvl bump would be ok and the minor stat bump but I replaced the first 190 I got with a 187 because the stats were way better.

It’s pretty fun when you get the right combination of powers and turn in to an unstoppable aspect of death and destruction. Not sure what your idea of fun is, but I’ve been enjoying it.

It started out as fun, and I enjoyed some aspects of it. What isn’t fun is going up 18 floors only to fail finishing your quest because of an overpowered melee boss. And then realizing that in order to finish the quest, you have to start all over.

The two rotating levels are for the legendaries only. Twisting corridors outside of the questline is for the challenge and for the cosmetic rewards. Kind slim on the rewards though.

On the other hand it is fun getting 100 plus anima powers.

I found health to be a big issue. Got to the point I was actively seeking it out because even with defensives up and serious cd’s random mobs were dishing out ridiculous damage to you.

Yup. For hardcore types who want the challenge and the attendent rewards, I have no problems with trying - and failing if need be - when I have enough time to spare. However, tying critical story event behind odds which seem so random (insuperable to some, trivial to others) after a long grind?

Not for me.

Enjoy the empowerment that comes with realising you have a choice. Doing layer 8 isn’t a necessity.

If you only feel like doing layer 5 you do layer 5, enjoy getting almost 90% of the reward for half of the effort.

The fact that some people feel like they need to do layer 8 even on alts astounds me, it’s a game play it in the way you find it enjoyable and fits your goals.

You have a point here. I realise I don’t have to do layer 8. I can just go slow with level 3 and that’s it.

When I’m bored and sometimes fed up with the world, I used to go play Diablo. Fast paced kill stuff gather loot get upgrades.

Now I can just go to Torghast where I’m completely absorbed in trying to survive and pull carefully to stay alive. Torghast is Diablo without the loot but still with powerups.
