Just tried finishing layer 8 this week. I thought it was nerfed based on eariler game play but today its back were it was.
I dont get it. In order to be a part of a raid team, I now have to do Torghast which takes me two to three hours a week.
which is about half the raid time. Shocking yes, I have a full time job and this just sucks to have to spend every waking moment in Torghast just so you can do what you like to. I get that some folks have lots of time to fiddle in torghast. I think my time and money is better spent elsewhere.

yeah most likely just quitting, what ever clown at blizzard thought it’d be a good idea to have to spend 3+ hours a week grinding soul ash in torghast is a complete moron and deserves to be fired 100%, the company will lose thousands of subs the second people realize they have to do this indefinitely.

You dont have to do it indefinitely, many people are already done there lego and dont need to return till next content patch if the same way to upgrade.
you only got to keep going if you want a m+ and raid lego. which many players dont care about and even than only 4 more weeks. While there is no need to do layer 8 the majority of the soul ash is from early layers so if your fine with a extra week for a lego that is completely fine if not bleeding edge and I doubt you are the 10 ilvl of another lego tier wont make or break a kill.
Also if its takes you 3+ hours a week your doing something wrong I suggest getting a group. Solo takes me about 40 min a run at layer 8 groups are about the same at around 45 min norm. Thats 1.5 hours for 2 wings. 3 hours or double the time shows a issue on your end.
is it possible you walked in thinknig it’s nerfed, stopped trying to get powerups and ended up so weak that it felt unnerfed?
If its taking you 3 hour to do 2 layer 8s your doing something wrong.
Last one I did I was so op that the floor 5 boss died in 3 or 4 globals and the final boss in less then 20 sec.
Worth noting you can just… Not do layer 8 if it’s too hard. Only doing layer 7 won’t even put you a single upgrade behind until this patch is all but over most likely (11 weeks)

thanks - yeah that is what I ended up doing this morning. I personally think all these bolt on systems ridiculous and unnecessary. I wish they would just spend time on the content or maybe they dont have the creative capacity to do that
I agree on gating legendary on 2-3 hours run without any other reward at all is silly.
With my druid (ms resto) , i use os balance spec and finish layer8 because i have treants and resto affinity. If i don’t choose them, i can’t kill the end boss or sometimes die to regular mobs on the way.
With my rogue layer 8 depends on anima powers, so i did not risk it and do layer 7 as weekly, because i don’t need soul ash that much. sacrificing 40 won’t effect in long run.
The suck part is when you did all 5 floors smoothly but can’t kill the last boss. QUITTING wow is floading in my brain after 1.5 hours in there with no progress.
Randomly rotating Torghast wings each wing is a absolute trash.

Actually one for pvp, mythic+ and raid for some classes.
Longest I took clearing a level 8 was 40 mins.
