Torghast Issues

I main a Paladin and have Warlock as my main alt. The difference between anima powers is staggering. My Paladin can easily clear solo runs with no deaths unless I get knocked off an edge, but my warlock struggles so much in there. Sure we MIGHT get some stuff to buff our demon, but getting non-crit hammer of wrath hits for 8k versus killing myself while casting hand of guldan/chaos bolt/malefic rapture is just so out of tune. I had a run the other day where I didn’t get any damage increase from anima powers the entire run. Totally miserable experience. And since it takes well over an hour just to fail this is a total ball buster.

REALLY wish they would offer some anima powers that just gave us flat damage to our abilities like paladin has it. They get stuff like 15% additional damage to holy spenders. Hammer of wrath hits 30% harder. Judgement CD reduced by 1.5 seconds. 25% increased damage when you have forbearance debuff. All of that is raw damage output buffs, and they’re grey item quality.

I guess we are required to do Torghast as a group run on warlocks?

Given literally half of our powers are damage increase powers and the Oberon haste and mastery buffs are common enough, I have my doubts.

If you’re on floor 4 and you have somehow, by grace of RNG God against all odds, gotten no good powers, I’d bail and restart.

Every class is like this. Your pally too. If you get through your pally with zero damage buffs it would also suck.

I’ve cleared up to 6 and the last clear on layer 6 was a cake walk… and the one before that was brutal and couldn’t get past floor 4… Everything rides on getting good anima choices.

I have learned, at least as destruction, I take every choice that increases mine or my pets health… that is the main key to success… I ended my last run on layer 6 with a pet that had 130k plus health, would heal most of the time for 5% when I did dmg… and had a few other perks… I literally stood back, added a couple dots, CB’d every once and awhile… as long as I didn’t come close to aggro it was cake… This was a mob with over 600k health, and it never moved my pets health meter hardly at all… If you do get a boss that de-aggros and goes after you… its usually game over.

Will admit it probably takes me a little longer to do a run since I am really methodical… but it really does hinge on good anima choices and having a plan… the run before that, I seriously got so many choices on mawrats, phantasm bonuses etc… was fun, but I was screwed by floor 4… brutal.

Something I don’t think I have seem many people mention, is that there are a lot of mobs who don’t aggro each other… when you see 2 elites next to each other… you can usually hit one and it wont bring a friend…

I read they buffed the final boss’s health pool.

And yeah the gamble of never seeing a decent anima power to give damage is a bit frustrating. And then to drop the whole run at floor 4 would be pretty frustrating as well.

I literally haven’t had a single issue on my paladin, and actually enjoy the torghast OP bonanza.

Warlock is a total maybe on the outcome. Yeah sometimes I get double demons when I summon infernal/dark glare/commander and then I get the one where my cov ability also summons infernal/etc/etc. But if I don’t get that or buffs to my demon the run is a bust. And a busted run in torghast is a total waste of time. If the runs didn’t take upwards to an hour to do, I wouldn’t care. But they have taken me an 1.25 hours to do in the past.

Maybe I am weird, but I rather enjoy Torghast… even the runs that fail. It’s unusual, but I like to solo things when I can and enjoy the random powers. I do wish there were more drops. Maybe this will change over the next few weeks, but so far I kinda enjoy the runs.

I’d rather do this than run dungeons, not because the dungeons are horrible, but I can’t recall the last time a dungeon run wasn’t just a sprint between encounters, no one says anything and you never get time to enjoy the dungeon or listen to anything happening.

Demono is the answer. Thorgast is very easy as demono.
