Torghast is terrible and here is why

With PVP, mythic +, and raiding, wow has more than enough repeatable content to last us forever. All three have the perfect difficulty to challenge players and or have fun with it. torghast is not fun, and everyone I know, including myself, hates it and wants to run through it asap to be done with it; if it weren’t for soul ash, we would never EVVVVER do torghast. It was a fun idea but turned out to be just like visions, which was nothing more than a hot bag of disappointment. torghast and visions are hands down the worst parts of this game that you have put in wow. If you deleted torghast, the game would be in a better place. It’s a terrible experience and nothing more than a time gate that’s unbearably boring and frustrating. It also makes the game, not alt friendly at all. Just give us the soul ash from the vault so we can do things (with our friends) that we enjoy doing. I’d much rather get all three chests cleared in PVP, mythic+, or raiding for soul ash than god awful torghast. Please blizzard, get out of our way and let us play the game how we would like to.

I’ve cleared all of the layers at max level since their releases to get max soul ash. Also cleared twisting corridor 8 already for the mount. I 100% hate the place, it’s a time sync, but at least it’s really easy. I’d rather it not be a mandatory grind for legendaires, but oh well. I have 2x maxed out legos and enough ash to make a 3rd. probably could start skipping it, just worried more leggos or ilvl increases will cost a lot later on.

I still don’t get why people hated visions so much. If you weren’t trying to 5 mask it, then it was actually pretty easy with all the upgrades. Also the Layer 8 normal Torghast is a bit of a grind without good powers, but with a group it’s also pretty fast and you only have to do it a few times and probably not again for months.

It would perhaps be nice tho if Soul Ash were potentially account wide though.

I cleared layers 1-8 at 154 ilvl on my warrior last week (it hit 60 last wednesday) and today crafted my first rank 2 legendary. Like… Torghast isn’t even a roadblock at all. LOL. All 7 of my toons are swimming in soul ash, and several have 4+ rank 2-3 legendaries. Torghast is MILES ahead of that crap that was visions. I am literally leveling toons solely to do torghast with them. I hope they expand on this feature.

So I finally got the quest to go into twisting corridors to find clues on Anduins whereabouts. Wasn’t sure I wanted to bother but decided to give it a go.

Got to floor 9 and trash mob health had increased to an average of 25k so it was taking FOR-EVER.

Then I started to feel sick, like gonna throw up sick. Tried to stay but had to just hearth out and shut down the game. All that progress lost cause heaven forbid you could put a “save” like raids have.

So I thought, am I going to do this again? Am I going to start over from scratch? No. Done. It isn’t worth it. It isn’t worth the time and effort in any way, shape, or form. It just isn’t. Wonderful gameplay ya got there blizz. DONE.

Torghast is boring because you get nothing other than a legendary piece, and everything looks the exact same.

Torghast for me is like how studying for exams used to be.

After about 5 minutes, I start thinking about how the laundry needs to be done. Etc.

Choreghast and Boreghast may have been too kind. Snoreghast is more like it.

Too much effort was sunk into Torghost to make it work.

Even on launch they couldn’t get it right.

What class were you playing that 25k health took forever?

Pro tip: You can just zone out and go to first boss 3 times for the quest.

I’m with you though. After wiping on floor 18 I was more than happy to just watch the cinematics on youtube and never enter that god forsaken place again.

Torghast is mind numbingly boring and shouldn’t be required for player power. Legendarys shouldn’t be tied to it.

I’m in this same boat. I was worried there would be a cool cinematic, which is why I was even trying. But my mage got given a boss that was impossible due to mechanics… AGAIN… so I’m also in the boat with everyone who thinks the whole place can die in a fire. :angry:

You could have exited at floor 7 and repeated 1-6 twice the next couple days, to get all three Anduin pieces. You should have looked it up on wowhead

It needs an overhaul. Good idea, poorly executed.

Solution: Do it with a group so you don’t get “cheated” with unfavorable RNG on a boss. Bring a tank or something, like every other form of content. You don’t HAVE to solo it just because it’s an option.

They had opportunity to make the place something people explore. Adding secrets and hidden rewards. But they ended up with a place people see as a chore.

But instead they made each floor one long, gray corridor full of the same gray colored generic looking NPCs. At least Island Expeditions and Warfronts had some personality.

I was in Torghast today on this character doing the find 3 clues to the king. That place makes my eyes bleed and my carpel tunnel flare. I have managed layers 1 and 2 in twisted corridors on this character. Decided to try to go ahead and do that quest on layer three and see how far I would get. I made it to floor 13 and the scenery changed to Mortrigar. The one with the grapple hook to get from platform to platform. 3 ghosts that fear, 2 elites that don’t really die, and a handful of random other ghost trash all on the same platform. So much mob density there. Everything on that platform was hitting for 15k each and every time.

My opinion of Torghast is it needs some tuning, if this is supposed to scale by how many players and what class. Maybe more predictability on the “powers” . It’s one of those features I could take or leave in WoW. I’m glad people are enjoying it, for me tho, I might not spend too much more time in there.
