Totally off topic but … do you have a pet named Asleep? You totally should
One of the reasons I stepped down from alting is the idea of doing Torghast or the Maw ever again…
I did TC 6 on Piddy here, spec’d Demon, and boy, it was a blast.
Really smooth run.
Don’t go being positive and ruining the ambience now…
I somewhat feel you. I did do two successful TC clears yesterday but also two failed runs and oh boy… does 3 hours of loss feel bad.
Torghast, renown, and anima makes me abandon alts.
The biggest problem with Torghast is how unrewarding it is. I enjoyed the game play but there is no reason to go back.
You are indeed…woke
I hate how unrewarding Torghast is.
The twisting corridors feels like, “ Here Torghast, hold my beer!”
I would like to encourage more posts like this. Torghast and the Maw are bad. It was too late for 9.1, but they can let us leave Shadowlands in 9.2! Or maybe WoD it and end the expansion after 9.1!
It’s a great idea, procedurally generated dungeons. It fails in execution because the mob and architecture assets are just so dull and uninspired. I think they’re definitely onto something but this execution leaves a little to be desired.
I find the Maw and Torghast to be visually tedious which is why I only ever go there if my covenant sends me there on a quest.
I can’t do TC at all. I get 3/4 and just nah
Got 4 charters in covnet and 13 not got 50 more in bfa
I like Torghast a lot, but this is where it fails to some degree. The fact that they’re not procedurally generated layouts. At least, if they are, the number of options are so limited, and the rules are so strict, that it procedurally generates the same small set of layouts over and over again.
What it actually looks like is they’ve just made a few predetermined layouts from the base tile set, and there is some small amount of randomization of enemies and such for some additional variety.
Which is fine - I get that they would have had a limited scope to execute on this feature, and I think they’ve done very well with it, it’s just one of those things where it could have been truly excellent if they were able to go the extra mile.
Having said that, even D3 suffered from this, to a lesser degree. It’s much, much harder in 3D than it was in 2D.
yup and expect more of the that hot garbage in 9.1
I just finished layer 8 TC. I don’t have to go back until they add more mounts, cosmetic gear or new followers. I hope that doesn’t happen for a while. It’s kinda grindy in there.
