Torghast is a mess for some classes

Even with all anima orbs and spending your anima on orbs, you can still get bad luck and do no dmg/or be unable to kite the 6th floor boss.

Is this solo content intended to be done solo? If so, is it merely luck? And if it is, what a waste of time lol.

edit: not to mention this is content required for progression. So you can literally fall behind from this.

Yeh it sucks that it’s such a waste of time. I’ve been in there twice and already want to never have to go in there again.

I was having a lot of fun up until this point, oh well.

level 3 was a challenge solo. I doubt anything above that is going to be soloable for any casual players.

It’s a bad proposition for time vs reward, that’s for sure.

I have yet to understand how people find Torghast fun. Did I miss something ? I just see a dungeon with packs of mobs and some traps. I have to walk and everything is super slow and boring. I don’t get it.

Horrific visions, despite the timer, were super fast paced and intense. But this ?

To be fair, it could make a great end game for casuals, but it has to offer more, and be friendlier for some classes. I barely beat the level 3 final boss on this Guardian, but I seriously doubt my Shaman would have even made it to the 6th floor.

Took me well over an hour, and I got 85 ash, a memory I won’t be using, and a follower for the command table.

Meh.

Not just mobs and traps, but the worst kinds, slammed together like the devs were copy pasting, made purely to waste your time.

I dont mind the dps race on synod or the channeler boss(stacking + 10% damage) but its way to fast + having to dispel his 5% stacking damage reduc + his speed at which he moves/stomp silence.

And this was layer 2, and I am “decently” geared.

I mean we are not really geared that well currently so yeah it’s a lil tough. Just grab a friend, I did upper 3 with a hunter friend. Was a little challenging but doable.

As the expansion progresses and we get better gear floors will get easier.

Getting gear is the other problem.

Honestly, if I could group, i’d just be running dungeons, where there’s a chance of upgrades, or even something useful dropping.

They’re likely going to have to buff several classes choices or add more anima powers.

Some people can do like 10-30k dps while others are sitting there with like 4-5k because their classes powers are poo.

Oh thats me doing no dmg while my hunter friend got all the good bufs haha. I mainly helped that run by having my earth ele be the tank for the bosses. But that’s the nice thing going in with someone, if you don’t get good rolls then there is a good chance your party member did and can carry. I don’t seen getting carried in torghast as a issue.

I’m finding them fun so far but they can be rng. For the level 3 one I got lucky and got some real good powerups. Instant door of shadows on a short cooldown, permanent speed increase from disengage (really helped zip through the place.), stun with intimidate gave 100% crit chance and damage and a bunch of other ones so I was shredding elites and the last boss. I’ve also had one where my luck with power ups wasn’t as good and it was more of a slog, so it could go either way but I’m liking it so far.

I sure hope it will, otherwise I won’t be bothering to run it at all. Floor 3 actually was just about right for me and I suck, even as bear it was fairly challenging.

It’s rogue like.

Sometimes you get a good seed, sometimes you don’t.

I think that the rogue like concept isn’t going to go over well with a lot of MMO players, because it’s based on RNG in a totalized, comprehensive sense, such that if you aren’t getting the right boosts, it can be a “failed run” purely for RNG reasons. That isn’t really popular with MMO players who generally prefer their performance outcome to be not based totally on RNG.

Yeah, even roguelikes* I usually have some counterplay.

I felt busted in Torghast no matter what way i went about it

The Grand Malleare completely chewed my spriest’s face off repeatedly and I used up all my deaths the first time I tried to fight him. I just had rotten luck with the powers & the fact my gear was only 140. Went back the next night, had much better powers available to me, and my gear was up to 150… still died twice before I finally got him down by the skin of my teeth. All I can say is, I despise that guy… I don’t look forward to running into him on my alts as I take them through.

I’ve been finding it super fun, especially as a brewmaster monk.
