GW2 is a ton of fun. I can walk away for months and my gear is still good enough to raid in. PvP is skill based instead of gear. And WvW is like what I wish warmode was.
I’ve not yet jumped into Torghast this week, not really looking forward to it after all these posts lol.
Sounds like an absolute joke.
I’m not quite there yet, but FF is always calling me to give it another try. I still have the new spiderman expansion pack game. After the holidays I’ll probably have assassin’s creed, watch dogs, and cyberpunk (I would have had at least one by now, but GF and Roomie say I can’t buy anything for myself until January. I’ll probably have a PS5 in the next month or so as well.
WoW isn’t going to hold my attention the way things are going.
“People are… enjoying themselves? We must nerf this at once.”
I had a blast in Torghast in the Beta. I tried nearly every class to see the wild combinations of abilities I could get. I get someone of them were a bit wild/overboard, but now everything feels like a slog and I just can’t wait for it to be over so I can go do something else.
3 failed runs in a row on my paladin and I’m calling it quits. No, 50% extra damage on my next Divine Power spender after a hammer toss doesn’t make up for the fact that the “Out of Combat” assassin can solo me if I’m not spending all my Holy Power on self-heals. And no, putting 5 or 6 Tower Sentinels doesn’t make it more engaging when I’m moving at a snail’s pace in an already mobility-gimped class.
Congrats, you took a potentially great thing and dunked it in the toilet.
Torghast is absolute dog crap waste of time content. I hate it more than anything - it’s just terrible. I have 3 sec lag in torghast only, abilities are weaker now, enemies crush without any effort. Its garbage, plain and simple
ummmm…thats actually a cat turd wrapped in paper.
Totally agreeing with you that player skill should triumph over gear. What’s the challenge if you overgear the content or getting carried by 24 other players?
I think torghast is just so time consuming. I don’t have 3 kids, only 2 lovely little daughters, and only 1 job - and still, I have very little time on my hands to toss it away for 70 soul ash. Not to mention you can clear up to the final boss for an hour and getting splatted for bad RNG boss/anima powers.
I bought SL because they said it would be less time consuming, and that they don’t want the game feel like a chore. They promised solo content, which is good because getting a PUG takes longer than actually doing the content. They lied. If you have to get GROUPED content gear (M+ or raiding) to do the ‘solo’ content - it’s not soloable. Just put a chest in the end with some gear so we can progress. It can even be torghast only gear that gets disabled outside of it so that no die hard special snowflake raider delicate feelings would get upset.
Best thing anyone complaining about this can do is either a) skip it entirely going forward, or b) run level 1’s 2x per week and that’s all. Blizzard certainly pays attention to feedback, but they also watch player behavior in-game.
I have aswell, this the third expac in a row I quit in the beginning. Possibility that I came back later on when they get their sht together an some catch up mechanics? Sure.
LMAO
Based on the number of replies and the number of threads on this topic, maybe a blue can gain some courage and address the issue?
They will rarely ever address something like this unless the backlash reaches critical. Best thing to do is let them know how we feel with our wallets and keep them from their money.
Was expecting fun Legion Mage tower cross with Hades. Got probably one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced in wow. Keep hearing it was super fun during alpha / beta too, not like one of the top Hades players works at blizzard or anything either. Guess that typical rule of “Fun was detected” stands true for Blizzard.
What feedback? Are they sending out surveys? Are the contacting players in game and asking their opinion? Are they viewing other places where players gather and talk about the game?
No, I don’t think this was based on any “feedback”.
I think this was based purely on stats that showed tank/heal specs were completing Torghast much faster/with fewer deaths than DPS. They also saw posts in GD talking about how DPS had it harder than other specs.
But feedback? No. No one asked for these kinds of buffs to the mobs or nerfs to the players.
No one.
Blizzard has metrics on everything and is actively reading player feedback on every social media including this one, and GD represents a tiny fraction of the game’s population. If they made these changes, it’s likely that they know that this what a large population of players wanted.
The most frustrating part of this, is that you can breeze through the levels because you get good aoe powers, then choke on the final boss since you don’t have enough single target damage and since it was all random, there is nothing you can do about it.
He’s trolling you. He literally makes things up on the spot. I wouldn’t take anything said seriously.
And I do mean that literally. Guy was on the other side of the argument just 4 days ago in another thread.
Layer 2 shouldn’t be that challenging. I just got killed twice by the final boss. I’m done with it.
Hot mess in there today - I’m not sure what to do with that last boss on level 7 - I’ll have to read up on it but right now, I am too frustrated to look into anything.
Against my better judgment, I gave it one last shot. Decreased it to Layer 3, which I breezed through as my druid.
How foolish of me.
My paladin made it to the boss with 4 lives remaining, only to find out that I literally cannot kill the boss with the anima cells I’ve found. I wasted the better part of an hour getting to this point only to be told, “No. You get nothing. Leave.” Even with a dungeon where you get no loot it feels like the chance was there, but this is just… abysmal.
It plays absolutely nothing like how it did in the beta when I tried, and I feel like I was sold a bill of false goods (and I know, beta is beta and all) in how Torghast would play. Guess I’ll see if they pull their heads out of their backsides on this some time in February or March.
