Torghast, easy or difficult?

With all the talk about torghast being unbalanced ( easy mode for some, geame breakingly hard for others ). I have some very basic observations about it.

Now ive only ran through torghast on 2 different classes resto druid (w/ guardian affinity) and frost mage. But the one thing ive noticed is that it is forcing you to take a closer look at ALL of your abilities and use some that you normally either rarely ever use or completely ignore. For example on my resto druid, I havent used entangling roots in a very long time and it isnt part of my usual play style, but once I started using it in torghast ( with the particular ability buffs associated to it ) it became much easier. With the mage kind of the same deal
, stared using crowd control abilities i dont really ever get a chance to use in dungeons ( mainly because everyones trying to speed run them and never use CC) and it made it easier and more mangeable.

Also running with classes that have healing ( druid, pally , ETc.) makes it easier, where classes ( like mage ) that done have much in the way of heals or self healing abilities is also going to make thinks much harder.

I only say all this as a way of saying, instead of just complaining about balance and/ rage quitting, take a few mins to look if any other abilites you have ( that you don’t ever use will help before getting upset about it all. After that and its still far too difficult then yeah complain away.

So the question is should balancing work be done to torghast? Most likely yeah, but as I said earlier before demanding all of that please make sure your using all of your abilites that may help first.

Just an observation from what I’ve personally noticed and have gotten from conversations with guildies and freinds.

For me? Difficult, but I was also trying layer threes mainly. The end bosses left me using Mend Pet and Misdirect on cooldown, still having to revive my pet two-three times during each fight - so I had trouble focusing on my rotation. It might be different if I can go with a tank, so I will have to see.

If they reduced the damage done by those final bosses by a lot, I’d be really happy about it.

Very easy then randomly, soul crushingly hard (depending on spec, class and powers)

All good points - find a way for your class to make it through. There are some difficult mechanics if you don’t have crazy gear. As a moderately geared guardian druid I have cleared all of the floors each week. The third floor boss was not a cake walk by any means. I even died once. It was weird. And now they are making it harder according to the patch notes. I know lots of classes / friends that are decent players that cannot solo clear the third floor with current gear. Maxing out death attempts and buying the pots to get more attempts. Kinda sucks for them. Most should be able to clear through level 3. Make 4-6 much harder… but let folks have that level 3… feels bad.

Well its very anima power oriented, and some situations or classes can scrounge up the most anima powers per floor possible leading to some very strong (or outright OP) combinations.

I had fun figuring out different ways to overcome its challenges, such as annoying maw rats but keeping them alive so assasins didnt jump in with their trumped up health pool - or using the vendor item that turns non elite enemies into a anima core to deal with said assasin when it spawns.

Boring solo, get a group and you’ll have a much better time I’ve discovered. Solo runs on it are a new ring of hell on the tedium. Not hard just slow and boring.

Easy on lower floors, difficult on higher floors you haven’t tried yet.

Druids can just use entangling roots and kill everything without going in combat. Lmao #balanced.

Seems difficult to me, but I’m an eternal noob, also I need to get my item level up.

Easy on all floors if you pick the right anima power, and talents. and gotta know your spells so you dont pick a wrong power buff

ive done the 3rd layers of all that have been relaesed so far and wasnt too difficult on my druid on age have really gone too far yet. But yeah i can see how the upper layers will get much harder.

Feral Druid in my experience has been relatively easy so far, the final level of Mort’regar was hard though with those Elite Shade mobs that apply an anti-healing debuff, long duration non-dispellable. I ended up skipping instead of trying to fight them.

Some mobs seem a bit out of tune compared to the rest

But overall, pretty easy

You forgot the phase of the moon and if Murry in programing had his mid morning breakfast sandwich.

I failed at torghast multiple times on my druid that was extremely undergeared until I discovered entangling roots.

I will say torghast scales badly, in the sense I tried a 5 man group cause it was too hard, and people got one-shot by traps.

Doing Torghast at 139 Ilvl with two non-functional trinkets and bypassing most of the level with stealth wasn’t that possible heh.

Wait till people start complaining about floor 6 being too hard this week…

yeah ifigured that out, but thats kinda the point I’m making is that entangling roots is an ability that many druids ( at least me) dont ever really use. So maybe therte are abilities other classes dont ever reaaly use that’ll help them alot.

I’ll sum up this thread for you:

Easy!
Hard!
Easy!
Hard!
Easy!
Hard!

This is very true. Depending on RNG it can swing both ways.

I’d rate it “not something that would help keep me subbed.” In that, it totally fits the SL design.
