Which races will be top for dk when allied races are allowed? Like a top five would be helpful. Thinking Zandalari, lightforged draenei, void elf, kul’tiran and mechagnomes
Balance changes happen all the time, so whichever you think looks cooler.

If you’re planning for Horde, Zandalari is probably the best. The other AR racials are kinda lame.
As Alliance, Dark Iron and Trash Gnome both have pretty great racials, Kul’Tiran isn’t too bad either. Trash Gnomes are certainly the best however.
The best race is Pandaren regardless though, bouncy 11/10 best racial.

The Kul’tiran racials strike me as quite good for Blood tanking, but less useful for the other specs.

Vulpera without a doubt.
Maghar orcs are a strong secondary. The racial seems pretty radical .

Vulpera haven’t interested me with their racials. Looking mainly for horde, bigger race if possible.
I am having problems deciding Vulpera or Z-Troll. I know I want to main an Unholy DK for Shadowlands. Aarrghhhh!!
I’m going Mag’har for looks, mostly. Although, I am hoping the DK mount speed bonus and Mag’har mount speed bonus stack because that seems like fun.

It’d be strange if it didn’t, the racial does stack with every other mount speed increase.
Debating Maghar vs Zandalari myself.

I believe Zandalari will be better from a min/max between mag and zandalari. Forsaken are pretty high up there on the dps meters for unholy dks and Z trolls get basically the same racial as them

From what I’m seeing, Void Elf is also a strong option for ally dps specs (both frost and unholy) because of the upfront burst nature of the two, the 5% boost is nice. Also, the movement help isn’t that bad either.
Although, I’m going to take a left turn and reroll with Lightforged Blood - I want another way of easily getting/keeping threat in aoe with retadins on skittish.

I wish I had known they would open up DK to ARs. I race changed my Warrior from OG Orc to Mag’har and my DK from blood elf to OG Orc (I had originally chosen blelf due to the previous iteration of AT) specifically because DK race restriction.
Oh well, the Mag’har heritage armor + prot flail looks pretty sick. I’ll probably keep my DK as an OG orc. It feels appropriate.
Female pandaren 2H animations are so freakin’ good though, if you’ve never seen it…plus Quaking Palm? Pretty nice.

So now I’m stuck between either one of the taurens or sandals. Because a warrior or bwomsomdi sounds awesome
of all the races i have to roll a panda dk cause why not. <3
I really don’t think DK movement is that bad but if I had to go any of the allied races it would prob be the Zandalar trolls for the movement speed increase.
I do recall hearing someone mention a good option for Blood DK: Kul Tiran human with the shake it off, you get a decent amount of health back, and with DKs taking so much actual health damage, this could be a legit amount of healing.
