Top 5 Races: Best Transmog

Im wondering what you folks think are the best 5 races for transmogging. I.e. the #1 race, everything looks good.

I ask because i came across some weird opinions on Reddit and im trying to see if im losing it or they are.

Fem Nelf #1

A lot of mail armor looks like trash on everyone else. It’s like it’s made with them in mind.

Pandaren is my default answer, but wait until Pandaren DH’s with super sexy shirtless mogs.

Blood elf
Void Elf
Night Elf
Space Goat (mail and plate)
Zandalari if you’re okay with troll feet

Unpopular opinion, but I think blood elves look terrible in most mog, save for cloth and slootmog. Theyre too skinny imo. And I’m a belf!

I will say I don’t play any plate classes as elves. I can’t handle the giant boots on the otherwise small frame. It is my chief complaint, which is where the space goats come in. Lol. I love my elves in leather and cloth though. Mail sucks all around because most mail mogs are trash.

Orcs and humans of both gender never fail to look good

They’ve got an issue with shoulder pieces and helmets (sick of those ears poking through!)

But overall, I still put them at the top (especially with void elves getting 50% off).

No race looks amazing in every armor type, but terms of my favorite aesthetics, I’d say:

1.) Blood elf / Void elf (cloth, leather, and mail)
2.) Mag’har Orc (leather, mail, and plate)
3.) Night elf (leather, mail, and plate)
4.) Dwarves (mail and plate)
5.) Draenei (cloth, mail, and plate)

In dead last I’ll put any super short races that struggle to display the armor they’re wearing unless it was designed specifically for them, like heritage armor: gnomes, mecha-gnomes, goblins, and vulpira.

Male Human I would say. Their symmetrical neutral posture and proportions make every mog look good on them.

They don’t look good shirtless tho. They lack the V shape.

Orcs-Humans because most of the stuff, if not all of the stuff is modelled around them.
Night Elves/Blood Elves most things work except for the ears sticking out of helmets.
Wild Card at #5 going with Dwarves. they’re small but nothing stretches like some of the other races. it’s more compact and visible.

  1. Male blood elves
  2. Male void elves
  3. idk I think it’s a tie between female humans and male orcs and female orcs and I guess maybe female night elves

It’s always felt like gear is designed for male human and then warped to cover the rest.

  1. Female Orc/Mag’har Orc
  2. Female Human
  3. Female Night Elf
  4. Male Human
  5. Female Blood/Void Elf

(If hiding shoulders, put in female goblin/nightborne above male human)

Most races have too big of shoulders, weird postures that impacts clipping, or small statures that make weapons, especially shields, look silly.

That would be possible if it gave more freedom to use transmog from other armors level class armors, as seen rogue characters like Vaalera, Vanesa and Moroes in clothes armors, I already said that use several times or orcs warriors with leathers armors like orcs grunts like in RTS Warcraft times.

In short, we still need more variety of design to give freedom in transmog and Blizzard and the new devs do not have that system to give us more freedom in developing our characters unlimited.

Races with human like proportions tend to be easier to transmog for.

But I personally prefer Tauren.

Most of the Horde races look really bad in all armor. I’d say upright Body Type 1 (hehe) Orc looks okay in plate and BT1 Tauren in Druid-esque leather.
