Top 10 specs that need to be nerfed and some that need buffs

In no particular order:

  1. Retribution Paladins: Insane burst, healing, utility, and survivability. Can kill you in a 5 second stun if your trinket is down and they have wings up (wings has like 90% uptime anyways). Also has a absorb shield that can hit 10k damage when it bursts and 2 bubbles (1 which provides complete immunity and still doesn’t reduce damage done while immune anymore.)
  2. Shadow Priests: Insane self healing and DoT damage and survivability, Mind games is also insanely broken. Needs nerfs.
  3. Elemental shaman: Broken survivability, burst, and healing. No need to say more. 10K lava bursts no problem at all.
  4. Fire mages: Flying under the radar yet still globaling people. Legendary gives them 3 absorb shields with 20k+ total absorb, then they have ice block that lasts 10 seconds, and alter time, don’t forget about how ice block heals them now… and still has cauterize.
  5. Unholy Death Knight: literally can summon all of their dead ancestors and kill you in 5 seconds 50v1.
  6. Discipline priest: Overpowered damage for a healer, just really OP spec in general.
  7. Feral druids: Insanely broken damage (not as bad as ret) and healing as well as mobility… Can go bear form and tank just as effectively as if they were guardian druids.
  8. WW monk: Literally can global people in 5 seconds, amazing mobility and top tier damage. I’m 143 ilvl and can tell how OP this is.
  9. Sub rogue: Still killing people in cheap shots or kidney shots… No need to really say more. Echoing reprimand nerf didn’t matter much if the rogue got the Reverberation 200 ilvl conduit that makes it hit 70% harder.
  10. Prot paladin: Does more damage than most DPS specs… not really sure why.

Bonus spec Vengeance DH: 1 shot with the hunt, never die with 60k hp then 100k hp in metamorphasis, literally saw one 1v7 people in wpvp.

Specs that need buffs: (I’m unable to include all of them, so here are just a few)

  1. Holy priests: I don’t even have to say anything about this one.
  2. BM hunter: Hits like a soggy noodle. In fact, someone could use a pool noodle and hit harder than a BM hunter.
  3. Outlaw rogue and assa rogue: Bottom tier DPS specs. Need major help… sub outshines these specs by far.
  4. Frost mages: lol.
  5. Fury warrior: Trash survivability and damage, no defensive stance, healing nerfed to the ground since BFA.
  6. Destro lock: Buff sustained damage nerf chaos bolt a bit.
  7. Survival hunters: Not HORRIBLE but could use some love as they are usually outshined by most other specs.
  8. Frost DK: horrible compared to unholy, horrible even with 2h. Used to destroy people in cataclysm with 2h now it is super weak.
  9. Blood DK: not a great tank right now… seems squishy and weak.
  10. Brewmaster monk: horrible tank spec and super weak in pvp and pve both.

Fact arms wasn’t mentioned in the nerfs with how strong they are and how OP intervene is and the lacking of MW from buffs with how incredibly bad they are.
Also your reasoning for prot paladin isn’t even the main issue. It’s the massive amount of WOG healing with literally no requirement for mana.

I don’t know if i can take your post seriously.

Yeah but you have it separated by Spec and Class.

You also dont mention boomy’s with convoke, or the fact fire mages can do 40k crits.

I’m having a fair bit of success as 2h Frost in PvP. Consistently top or near top damage and alright survivability. Hammering someone with 7k oblits for 12 seconds is pretty good. Biggest issue is that’s all I can do, 12s of good damage per minute, outside of pillar my damage might as well be me slapping you.

There’s also Chill Streak, which while wonky is still incredibly good. Kinda hate it though.

Frost seems significantly worse in PvE than in PvP.

Frost DK is great and Ele shaman burst takes like 5 seconds to setup and you can see it coming. Watch for stormkeeper and you’re good.

You’re wrong about: sub rogue, ele sham, prot pala, and fire mage
You forgot: arms war, boomkin convoke, and death bolt from afflic

I actually think there’s a lot about the meta you missed. Mostly right now we need nerfs to specific abilities or specific combinations of conduits, talents, and legendaries. Not nerfs to classes.

Some classes do need buffs though.

A few nerf edits:

  1. Arms: intervene’s effect for such a short cooldown is absolutely OP.
  2. Afflic locks critting for 40k with death bolt is kinda fine, but maybe needs some very fine tuning.
  3. Convoke one-shots multiple people in a single cast. The people saying to kick it don’t know what holy paladins are for.
  4. DKs can swap into the AMS leg and spell eater in arena waiting room for a 24 second AMS worth like 40% of their max hp on a 60s CD. This is absurdly OP and nobody is talking about it, as it’s basically 24s of CC immunity against half the classes. It absolutely shuts down any comp with cast CC.

Something to add: some classes might seem imbalanced, but imo they’re actually fairly well balanced, or a good example of balanced right now.

For example: fire mage (whaaaaaat???)

Fire mage has absolutely insane, one-shotty burst, but they’re also where ret paladins were a while back. You can purge/cleanse everything they do. Combust, shields, poly, ring of frost, heating up, hot streak, invis, touch of the magi, arcane power…you name it, it can be cleansed/purged.

Consider on the other hand all the other classes: generally speaking you can’t purge/cleanse their defensives/offensives. You can’t purge their passive procs.

So in this specific sense, mages are the weakest class. To compensate for that weakness, fire is bursty, arcane has powerful slows, and frost is, well, on timeout from being the GOAT mage spec for 15 years. Frost should probably be changed to a tank spec.

Ele shams can instant lava burst like 4 times in a row 5k crits each…

Sure if the universe lines up right and you have a lava surge at the start and the end of the sequence . It’s a 10 percent chance depending on the amount of Flame Shocks you have put out .

A consistent burst would be to use Storm Keeper. So watch for when the Shaman goes all Thor and charges his weapon with lightening !!!

Lol, how is that possible?
I can see the VDH “surviving” or “escaping” or “beating 7 low levels/undergeared folks” but not on equal footing, without some type of buff or item.

I’m more worried about how OP fire mage is with their legendary and their burst damage and survivability.

Fire Mages can be cleansed / purged off combustion .

I’d add HoTs to that list of buffs needed. Casting a hot, that cost 1 GCD, in a meta where people are doing 18k aimed shots etc, is just laughable. Did you like that 1 tick of 463 healing I just gave you?..Yah, I’m sure it really helped out…well, sorry that’s all I could get off due to being kicked, feared, stunned, silenced, sheeped, hexed, lightning lassoed or WTFBBQ’s by a palie or arms warrior.

This game is in a horrible state right now PvP wise. Hey Blizzard, go play a Temple game right now. You literally spend more time dead, and running back, than you do fighting.
