Is wow on any top 10 games played list?

Nope.

I’ve played and keep playing since the original 2004 release days, but I’ve never placed the game in my top 20 PC games of all time.

I guess over the years the game is more like a second job, whereas other games are actual entertainment.

Maybe not for current games but it is at the top of the all time game list.

Name another game that’s been played by millions and been constantly supported for 20 years?

It depends on category. Different games provide different experiences.

Making lists of “best overall games” is kind of pointless and subjective.

You said top played. As in time put in. Wow is number one by a gigantic margin. It’s literally the most played computer game of my life.

I’ve played since early 2005 so it’s also the longest continuously play game for me ever.

If I had to guess total hours played . Probably around 6 or 7 thousand and even that I feel is me being very conservative.

Classic is. Sure.

I complain but I wouldn’t be here if some part of me didn’t still love this silly game.

My list of top 10 PC games is constantly fluctuating but if I had to choose them I guess they’d be:

  1. Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn
  2. Baldur’s Gate III
  3. Thief II: The Metal Age
  4. Half-Life II
  5. World of WarCraft
  6. The Secret of Monkey Island
  7. Betrayal at Krondor
  8. Elden Ring
  9. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  10. Tomb Raider

Adding console games to this mix would change it a fair bit.

Also, hi, yes, grandma IS very old!

Is Solitaire in the top 10? I used to see people playing that all the time. I was really fond of Lemmings, myself.

If Oregon Trail isn’t in the top 10 then the system is rigged.

No particular order ^ other than I’d pick Zelda OOT over all of them any day lol. I really do love classic era wow a whole bunch!

In Legion I rerolled (not transferred) from Hellscream to Area 52 after returning to the game from a break that spanned from Cataclysm to Legion. My original Horde rogue on Hellscream that I made in 2004 has 250 days of time played and I haven’t touched him since Cata. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s safe to say that WoW is easily in my top 5, much less top 10, for favorite/most played games all time.

For you maybe… but I bet there are more hours into FPS games than there are wow as a whole. That genre by far exceeds MMO’s. Games like Fortnite and Counter Strike.

That’s comparing an entire genre to a single game though. I’m sure if we compared all MMOs to just fortnite it would look different as well.

The people saying WoW isn’t top 10 wouldn’t be able to name a game they’ve played more than WoW.

It may have flaws, but the sheer amount of time it has sucked out of people shows it did something right.

I can’t name a food I’ve eaten more than bread, but I wouldn’t place it in the top ten foods I’ve ever eaten. Or the top one hundred.

Last time I checked, you don’t need WoW to live.

Comparing food to a hobby isn’t as clever as you think it is.
