Eternal Sunshine is amazing but no Being John Malkovich?

love gangs of NY. Also wish they picked a different song during that watchmen scene

A couple of others came to mind.

Which song? Bob Dylan’s, “Times they are A-Changin?”

In no order:

  • The Thing (1982)
  • Predator
  • Predator 2
  • Predators
  • Alien
  • Drop Dead Gorgeous
  • Tombstone
  • Unforgiven
  • Conan the Barbarian
  • Terminator

It is. I would also add The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Neverending Story, Legend, Dragonslayer and Princess Bride. I don’t know why but the directors in the 80s knew how to do fantasy and not many directors afterwards could capture that magic. Peter Jackson and Guillermo are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.

Honorable mention to Aliens. I love the majority of this movie but to me it’s really bad for like the first 30 or so minutes. Doesn’t get good until they step onto the drop ship.

Other honorable mentions are 13th Warrior, Godzilla King of Monsters, Mad Max Fury Road, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Illusionist and The Big Lebowski

Star Wars (4-6) used to be on my list but Lucas and Disney has killed my love for that universe. The unedited VHS copies are still good.

I also think Quentin Tarantino and Stanley Kubrick could do no wrong. Love the majority of their movies. The only ones I don’t love is the ones I haven’t seen yet.

Like every nerd I love LoTR.

Bleh there’s others I love but I can’t think of them atm. I guess the first 10 I listed are my island picks.
