Top 10 M+ Dungeons of All Time?

Recently watched this video from Maximus, Dratnos, and Dorki, and Growl ranking their top 10 best M+ dungeons of all time.Which of course got me thinking about my own list.
What’s yours?
Keep in mind that they are ranking specifically for M+.Your criteria are your own, but game play and repeatability (how fun it is to do over and over) should feature highly.

  1. Algeth’ar Academy - arguably Blizz’s best ever. BIG pulls, options for pathing, fun theme, boss fights that challenge in different ways… Requires teamwork and execution but not especially prone to bad RNG.
  2. Galakrond’s Fall - I’m with Maximus on this. Hard to explain exactly why, but I always enjoy this one.
  3. Azure Vault - great story, big pulls, options for pathing (still), great challenges
  4. Lower Karazhan - big pulls, classic instance
  5. Upper Karazhan - less popular than lower, but one of Blizz’s best ever instances and some good challenges
  6. Nok’hud Offensive - big pulls, good challenges
  7. Neltharion’s Lair - partly nostalgia, but I always found this a fun romp, with options for which mobs to pull/skip
  8. Waycrest Manor - options for pathing (even if we mostly used same route) and great ambience of haunted mansion
  9. Maw of Souls - bonus points for epic theme and creativity of rocking ghost ship in sea of storms
  10. Grimrail Depot - not for game play, but bonus points for creativity of fight on moving train

Note: I am still waffling on several of these and may make changes.

  1. Junkyard - bots are the best
  2. Streets - Fights are interesting, original and well designed
  3. Court of Stars - has a great “warcraft” feel, with RPG elements
  4. Freehold - (BFA version)
  5. Underrot - Aesthetics and game mechanics are fun…I like killing the Ghunnies down there
  6. Brackenhide/Nokhud (i love them both at the same time, so it’s a tie)
  7. Shrine of the Storm - Aesthetics are great, story is cool, and the items are unique
  8. Temple of Sethralis - I like the boss fights, especially the last one!
  9. Hall of Atonement - BiS Shadowlands dungeon
  10. Lower Kara - Dark, challenging and unique boss fights

I think all of these are fun, which is the biggest factor for me

Yes, that is the hunter your honor that is spreading such filthy lies.

it was fun!

Sure, if you count it being a dead key for at least 50 percent of the mythic plus population EVERY WEEK.

  3. Algeth’ar Academy
  4. Brackenhide Hollow
  5. Sanguine Depths

OG Freehold (big fun pulls)
OG Waycrest Manor (cool artwork)
New Waycrest Manor (")
Algethar Academy (big fun pulls)
Tol Dagor (cool artwork)
Iron Docks (a bit biased, I only liked this dungeon because I could routinely get 1st or 2nd in DPS as Rsham, and I liked aiming the death balls and killing mob groups)

These were really my only standouts. I didn’t do M+ in Legion, though.

Gambit was a popular choice among the streamers I mentioned. All four of them had it on their list. I mostly skipped SL so didn’t include any of those on mine.

Not sure I can make a top 10 but my favorite is probably Ruby Life Pools.

Short, fast, and intense.

So much karazhan in this topic
Most overtuned dungeon of all time, just ahead of Seat and Cathedral.

I got KSH in SL season 3 and did several other 20s in S4, bit couldn’t pug either one of those over 10. Was the only key I remember that I just wouldn’t run, period. Would seriously consider putting it at #1 AND #2… on my worst list.

Gambit
Court of Stars
Freehold
Streets
Arcway (I played lock)
Iron Docks
Junkyard
Spires of Ascension (the S3 version with Encrypted, S1 version was god awful)
Necrotic Wake
Algeth’ar Academy

It was only bad when people didn’t know the trash mechanics. If you were playing M+10 key Kara then I can see that being a bad experience.

Upper Kara was not bad, many times it was a skill issue and the timer was somewhat lenient.

It’s lower Kara that gets all the justified hate.

im only talking about sl s4 kara because i didnt play legion

i much preferred lower over upper except for the opera boss. upper was fine but far from making any top 10 of mine

  1. Halls of Atonement
  2. Sanguine Depths
  3. Mists
  4. Necrotic Wake
  5. Lower Kara
  6. Nelths Lair

Idk, maybe there’s not 10. They’re all pretty samey after these.

Outside of medivh rng I think upper Kara is super underrated. A 4 boss dungeon that is relatively short with a small amount of trash.

4 boss is standard, why would that be a plus?

mana wyrm was a huge pain on tyrannical too

I had a love-with-a-wee-amount-of-hate relationship with Motherlode.

Also always have loved Waycrest Manor, although admittedly more for the theme than anything else.
