In no order:

  • Fantasia
  • Dumbo
  • Bambi
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Bedknobs and Broomsticks
  • Robin Hood
  • The Rescuers
  • Fox and the Hound
  • The Great Mouse Dectective
  • The Rescuers Down Under

There are others I really like (example): Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Dinosaur, Emperor’s New Groove, Lilo and Stitch, Incredibles, Meet The Robinsons and WALL-E.

For me Disney animated movies pretty much ended with BatB. After that they were more interested in shoving in as many pop culture references as they could. I don’t find that type of story telling enjoyable most of the time.

I’m (actually) going to take this in a different direction and not just focus too much on the Disney Animation Studios/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars movies and probably list some more “underdog” (I use this word, lightly) type of Disney movies that don’t get enough attention (or the casual audience doesn’t know that Disney worked on these films). That being said, in no particular order:

  • Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit
  • Sky High
  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

I totally agree with you. First off, I see a Disney movie originally from Disney Studios. Not acquired IP. And I leaned more towards the live-action too.
