Since the servers are down, I’d like to share this with you all. WoWHead hasn’t discovered it yet. There is an addon called PlsFixMe Midnight Tooltip that blocks whatever UI interactions are causing the tooltip errors. I downloaded it and so far, so good. It’s not a 100% fix. It’s a workaround. There could be some goofiness with gold values in tooltips, but the critical errors won’t trigger and you won’t need to reload every five mins.
The tooltips are so wonky. I made a /reload macro since I have to reload the UI so often.

Does this include the mouseover on quest markers on the map doing a weird little narrow/wide dance?
I haven’t seen that glitch in over a week. I think World Quest Tracker fixes that.
No! They didnt fix this last maintenance? I thought they did. My only issue was a constant 1 second lag every like 20-40 seconds. Oh god I hope it doenst happen to me after today’s maintenance now that I read it still happening.
The tooltip errors happen because Blizzard was overzealous with making everything a secret value. They made benign UI element values into secret values in combat, as if they are somehow going to give ppl an edge.
omg blizzard, all i want are tooltips that don’t look like crap. 
why do you have to make it so difficult?
