Why is this mallet literally so worthless? You can’t use it in any raid, dungeon, or mythic+. Whats even the point of it then? How often am I really going to be lusting out in the open world at this point? Seems like this really fell short of being a cool item.
This is a personal item intended to add flavor to the profession(s). It is not supposed to help you in group content, nor is it supposed to make you rich or powerful.
So while you are out and about, working on WQs or finishing up questlines, you have a “free” bloodlust you can use every 5-10 minutes if you want. Personal benefit, nothing more, nothing less. Other professions get a combat pet, others still get a crappy repair of a single item on a 1 hour cooldown.
Using drums isn’t exactly helping me in group content where I would normally have lust or drums anyway. Just seems extremely silly that they give this free drums out, then you actually can’t use it in 99% of scenarios where you actually would use it.
They don’t let you use the free “drums” in grouped content because IT WOULD BE OVERPOWERED. Every class would benefit from a second bloodlust in dungeons and raids.
This is simply a free, no crafting cost bloodlust for out in the world, solo game play. Perhaps you pulled to many mobs and need to throw a hail mary, perhaps you intentionally pulled a crap ton of mobs knowing you could mow them down faster thanks to the bloodlust you wouldn’t normally have.
Second bloodlust? Friend, this mallet literally just uses drums. It still puts a 10 min debuff on you. It is literally the same effect as drums just not usable in dungeons/raids/pvp.
Where are you getting this idea it is different?
I understand that it isn’t a second bloodlust, do you? Because you seem to keep wanting to use it in a raid or dungeon environment and are annoyed that you can’t.
Odds are there will be a leatherworker in almost every dungeon if not every raid group. Allowing the mallet to replace the consumable drums in group content would remove the need to craft the consumable completely when it is already competing against the more powerful class abilities. So it HAS to be self-only and meant for solo-activities where you don’t normally rely on it now.
Tailoring gets you the RP satisfaction of helping the bronze dragonflight and then generally a “30 min outdoors only in Kul’Tiras/Zandalar soulstone or +10% run speed”. Tiny chance to get a chest with some old cloth, moderate chance to spawn a hostile mob that drops vendor trash, moderate chance to spawn a trader who will let you buy otherwise difficult or unavailable recipes from past content to have for completionist purposes for exorbitant amounts of the embroidered deep sea satin.
