you always say this, the game is never balanced around any version of pvp. and has never been balanced in any version of world of warcraft. But I guarentee if they were going to balance it, they would take ALL PVP into account, not just 1 aspect of it
im judging your gameplay off of what you shown the day you came out to the tournament. You back peddaling and keyboard turning has nothing to do with gear, flasks, or being underprepared. You could have easily returned to the tournament that we do everyday, and say hey im ready this time i got my gear. but you donât, you instead go straight to the forums and continue to give pvp advice. then claim these tournaments donât matter because itâs not valid pvp. We have been doing tournaments in world of warcraft for a very long time, way before sod. Tournaments have always been used as a gauge of who is stronger. you avoid it cuz your bad
If You have been farmed by paladins since 1 year ago You should quit and play era.
Shamans have been broken since p2 and they got buffed again without any of the required nerfs. Now alliance Will be behind again in PvP by Miles.
I hope they donât do any PvP update if they donât nerf shaman before.
They do not have more burst than a moonkim who can take your entire HP bar in one cast while also killing your whole team with passive aura at the same time. Itâs not even close and to suggest anything in the game is on par with boomy is ridiculous
only boomkin and hunter are close to each other in the top two with boomie being top.
tank sham > pally after that and those arent what the top two are but are still way above anything below it.

The 2300 crusader strike I took last night in AB suggests paladins may need more adjustments in the near future.
I took a 2k kill shot, where do I sign up to get hunters nerfed just because I took a big hit one time?
I think every class has atleast one build that does extremely well in PvP and depending on the class the skill ceiling can be very high but so far iâve been impressed by atleast one spec of every single class iâve PvPâd against. There are some really great players out there and every day Iâm finding people using some new kind of tech, which makes me think its such a shame that so few people actually PvP in SoD anymore.
I think in general most people go into PvP without actually being prepared for PvP and have their expectations shattered when they get attacked by people who are entirely prepared for PvP.
Flasks, PvP gear, Very specific Trinkets, Resistence pots, FAPs, LIPs, LAPs, PvP trinkets, Engi bombs, and World Buffs make ALL the difference in the world.
I can see how with a full set of Raid gear, when you only have so much stamina, and your talents/runes are set for PvE specific scenarios, how getting rolled over by someone whoâs just out there to kill players might lead someone to the conclusion that âOh this class is OP and i hate itâ but at the end of the day the conclusion is false.
There is often a lot of setup involved with the best PvP builds and even then it takes practice to master, please do not undervalue individual player skill and time comittment to something as meaningless as âblizz made this class OPâ
Shaman have got a lot of nerfs, and I have only played it intermittently. I can list quite a few off the top of my head and probably forgot or didnt know about some (most of my time has been ally hunter).
Rockbiter used to give huge AP and you could use it on both weapons or use RB and flame tongue and get the SP boost and AP. Now RB is just for threat and to activate Way of Earth and maelstrom for tanks. Maelstrom used token stack for instant healing wave now its lesser healing wave. Now way of earth reduces your range for spells and heals. Used to be able to use double flame tongue to double dip the SP buff as well. Lightning overload used to have either 1sec internal CD or none I forget, now it is 3sec.
Lava burst used to do huge damage, now ice lance can match it or starfire fan do 2x or more and cast faster with no travel time.
I forget how riptide and earth shield were earlier on, but since they buffed them dor the 25-30pt tree in resto they are weak as hell if you arent 30pt resto.
I think the reason people think shaman are so strong is because if you dont have tank gear, you are softer than a mage. So PVP shaman stack defensive runes/gear because sitting in the GY is boring.

Ya IDK why there arenât tons of threads crying about boomkin. No other class is critting me for 3k in BG, meanwhile passively doing 350dmg + a sec and making casts almost impossible.

Purification is an amazing talent. With it I feel tanky w/o it I feel like a wet paper bag and I dont use any tank gear or runes. 21/0/30 is the build⌠30/0/21 canât even complete.
Be serious, did they significantly impact shamans like they did any other class in terms of nerfs? They still do the very things people had to experience since P4 start.
Hunters arenât spamming Freezing traps anymore, but now they do KS spamming.
Paladins arenât killing anything inside of their bubble.
Boomies arenât unkillable during Frenzied Regen in Boomkin Form anymore.
That legit needed to be nerfed if other classes like Paladins catch a nerf on Guarded by the Light not being able to be /cancelauraâd off into a heal.
ES is still strong, Riptide is the only thing nerfed yet it doesnât make a big difference as Power Surge can give you an instant heal from CH.
Still does with PS resetting CD on LvB if lucky.
The issue is that
âŚone of their tank runes is stronger then a set of tank runes, Way of Earth
âŚ3 of their DPS runes is stronger then a set of DPS runes, Lava Burst+Burn+Overload
âŚone of their utility runes is stronger then a set of utility runes, Decoy Totem.
âŚone of their healing runes is stronger then a set of healing runes, Riptide.
They get to do that without much drawback whilst every other hybrid lost any combination of high tankyness/sustain/damage. You either get tankyness+damage or damage+sustain usually. Shamans are ahead of anything.
FT is on a 9sec cd, but why worry about trapping anything when you can delete it with KS spam instead?
And trust me paladins are still killing people while bubbled. I do it on mine and have had it done to me countless times since the nerf
If you take WoE your range is pathetic and you dont have ES and no spell pushback prevention (its only 30% anyway).
If you take overload you have mana issues and probably get smoked my melee and hunter.
And WoE is only active if rockbiter on MH, which then takes away the spellpower buff from Burn and your target will be out of range anyway. Riptide is weak AF, especially if you arent 30pt resto and if you are, your spells arenât great.
Even a overload procced instant lava burst does less than a starfire by a lot. Maybe it does 2, and has 5% chance to proc instant and then 60% chance to proc overload.
I think many of the shaman nerfs were necessary so they werenât so flippin OP no doubt. They are still strong in many ways but they donât delete anybody by any stretch.
Yeah pally are still able to mow people over no question.
Source trust me bro, literally a majority of paladins donât kill you when they give anyone around -50% damage taken.
Paladins simply havenât done so outside of a reckoning build.
Donât need it if you can get close to literally anyone with the assist of wolves or you would already fight a melee to begin with.
Just gotta outlast them with SR which regens your mana bar anyways to full from 40%.
10% with ZG shoulder enchant, that tends to happen quite frequently.
Does a good job triggering instant CH casts from PS, that is stupid. 30pts in resto or not it does a great job boosting your sustain by a considerable margin.
Those nerfs have done close to nothing to stop the power difference between shaman and any other class in PvP.
And then the gap between paladin and shaman increases further due to pre p8 paladin nerfs because of simulators that wouldnât be done by the 99.9% of the retribution paladins. Blizzard doesnât play their game and just looks at numbers from a SIMULATOR rather then waiting out the actual logs on bosses + nerfing actual broken/OP classes in PvP.
Okay so you would be running burn but get no SP benefit, so you hit 5 people like a wet noodle. Overload, so you wont get SP bonus or mana regen from shield mastery, or the defensive monster that tune brings. WoE so no ES, rocking rock biter, riptide, lava burst and wolves, so no utility or damage from storm earth and fire rune.
At that point people could just ignore you since your output would be so weak.
If the opponent can dispel flameshock you are as threatening as a Chihuahua with rubber teeth.
Most of my play time has been on alliance hunter and my gripe with shaman was never the damage they do (last few phases) but how damn hard they are to kill. I would say they can be durable if you gear/rune/spec for it but then your damage is pretty bad.
