Took a month break, don't know how to come back

Is this a sign I should just walk away finally?

Took a month or so of break due to midterms and internship, and I have been wanting and trying to come back for the past week or so, but man I just cannot get interested enough to play.
I read all the news and updates, I log in, and immediately log off.

Part of it is that frankly… the Undermine content burnt me quickly. Part of it is that it pisses me off that there is a lot to catch on, while at the same time, not really any new content.

I feel like maybe this is a sign that I just don’t like the game anymore.

Discuss.

If you aren’t logging in, yes probably don’t pay for it

I cancel my sub if I go on a long vacation or have a busy month or two, it doesn’t mean you have to quit forever. If you find yourself in a place where you would actually log in again, you can come back. Without logging in it is a waste of money

This is burnout, you’re not done with your break. Otherwise you would at least run something to get that rotation warmed up.

Took a month break, don’t know how to come back

I have the answer:

" … Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it couldn’t last
Jojo left his home in Tucson, Arizona
For some California grass

… Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back, get back
Get back to where you once belonged
Get back Jojo" - John Lennon & Paul McCartney, but really Paul McCartney. Also credited as “The Beatles with Billy Preston”

A month is not NEARLY enough time for a break.

I didn’t unsub but I didn’t play for 2 months while I played Terraria. I considered it a very short break.

My advice, leave the game and don’t think about coming back unless you really REALLY want to play wow. That’s what I do and I enjoy the game a lot now a days.

Not liking a game anymore is a normal feeling to have.

I don’t like playing Pokemon anymore, because Pokemon are starting to look humanoid or Digimon like and not more animal like.they use to be.

You wrote this. ^^^

You don’t need other people to tell you to play, when you yourself do not want to.

Get out of here, don’t look back, go do stuff with your life, game will still be here if you falter.

I came to TWW after LOU RWF was over; haven’t played retail since shadowlands.

There is a lot of the content, but it feels pretty optional; I genuinely don’t even fully understand the value of the cartels and pushing undermine renown. I heard people talk about renown impacting performance in raid, but don’t really know. Hell, I don’t even understand crafted weapons (and probably don’t have the gold to get one forged anyways).

All I did to get relevant was spam up delves and now I’m slowly building up my M+ involvement, which has been super chill. HVs also reward some good gear with enough masks so you can do that as well if you’re up to it.

If you don’t feel compelled to get on the gear treadmill again or do what you otherwise used to then…meh, sure go back on break.

If you’re not having fun then don’t do it

If you are not having fun, why waste time on it?

I am succumbed to this game becoz I am having a blast.

worst type of break

just enough to be behind on the raid %damage and missed a bunch of vaults for potential myth tracks you like.

when you break you gotta try n come back timed with a major patch or xpack heh

*on the bright side if youre okay with having missed potential myth items and hero is good enough and you dont raid… then spamming m+ will work just fine. no crest caps anymore.

Sounds like you’re over it, for the time being at least.

Probably a bad time to come back too, it’s mid/late season, so your main objective would be to do some of the catch up stuff to prep for next season.

Honestly think you need to find something else to fill in your WoW time. You will likely get more out of the time spent.

Game will still be here if the itch needs a scratch.

There’s not really much to catch up on.

Crush your weeklies, then do any campaign quests. From there side quests if you want too. Same old same old. Delves, Dungeons and Raids.

Legion remix looks worthwhile… but there’s still a fair wait for that. Unsubcribe until you feel like playing again. Retail isn’t going to change anytime soon. (it’ll be like this for the next 2 expansions, its a bread-crumb drizzle trilogy… no innovations)

Hey OP I’m not far behind! I’ll admit all I’m waiting for is the next trading post and then I’ll likely be back in game in Season 3. Portals done and I don’t particularly think I’m after anything more that current content has to offer. Work is expected to absolutely destroy me the next 2 months so it probably about time too.

Now will I still be a forum loiterer? Absolutely. Gotta kill my break hours somehow.

But yeah go, get outta here and find something you actually love.

I get this.

Sometimes I go play Civ IV or something.

If I find myself at a loss but want to play, I pick one of my too many toons and give myself a small goal: clean up old quests by completing them, turning in old rep items, doing some achievement, etc.

Usually that is enough to remind me what I want to be doing and kickstart my play again.

Take more time.

Honestly, a month isn’t enough if you want your love for the game to pop when you come back.

Play a few other games or do something else. It’ll be here and you’ll enjoy it more, imo.

Taking a break from a game that isn’t doing it for you is normal. Walk away, go find other things to pass your time doing, when you feel you are mentally back in the game than resub.
