Took a break, what are the top DPS/Tank/Heal classes at the moment? I am thinking of leveling either a Priest or Shaman for heals but not sure on the other classes. Also curious about same question for PVE or PVP… THANK YOU!!!

PvE:
I think it’s Prot Warrior.
Definitely Rdruid.
Basically any Warlock spec. Last time I checked they made up 3/5 of the top DPS spots.
As for PvP:
Prot Pally was doing super well at one point, in Arenas. Vengeance is the best for FCing in RBGs.
Rdruid again, hands down.
Best DPS depends on circumstance, but Destro is preforming exceptionally well for Arenas, with very nice CC, survival, and damage, whereas Havoc is pretty much uncounterable by any means. Overall, I’d say Havoc, even if they fall behind a little in Arenas and RBGs, because it’s a caster meta.
This is such a hard question to answer with out a little more info on what you are looking for in a class or what you plan on doing such as mythic+ raiding PvP. the simplest answer is what ever class you put time and effort into learning.
Just because a class is topping charts in healing, tanking, or dps doesn’t mean you will preform to those standards by just rolling that class.
Thanks for the replies, I generally when serious in past expansions was in top level raiding guilds as dps and in 3v3 as a healer with both a druid then shaman, I also really enjoyed tanking back in Wrath as a warrior and then paly
Resto Druid is one of the best in healing.
I have a Mistweaver Monk with golden parses on my Mythic Raiding guild but idk if he is just damn good or the class is amazing.
Tank? I’d say Demon Hunters or Guardian Druids.
DPS? Hmm… Shadow Priest is really good but it requires timing and a hard rotation. Warlocks are amazing too.

Resto Druid isn’t great in raids. They are awesome in 5 man content which is why people are placing them at #1. Disc priest, RShaman and MW monk are better than druids in raid.
You can look at warcraftlogs .com to see what classes do what on what boss fights.
Prot Warr and DK are the best tanks atm
Holy/Disc/Resto Druid in that order
Shadow/Elemental/Destro for dps
MM hunters are #8 right now, that worst spot is definitely Frost with Arms and Subtlety scraping the bottom of the barrel as well.

and I actually haven’t seen a DH tank at all in BfA yet, maybe they’re just rare.
Actually Demon Hunter, and Guardian Druid are the two bottom tanks this xpac. With Warrior and Blood DK now be top tanks.
Pally tanks are Middle of the pack.
And just as you level up one of these “top” specializations a new patch or hot fix hits. Then it all changes.

You’ve literally never raided at a high level. What spec/class you play will make no difference.
All four good tanks are good choices right now. DK, paladin, monk, and warrior.
Literally every healer is good right now.
In a dotcleave raid, the dotcleave specs are dominating? Wow, really? Spriest and boomkin too, you noodle.

Neither of these are bad. Like at ALL.
Again, literally every healer is good in raids, and monk, pally, and druid are all good in 5mans (and even shamans can shine on bursting weeks)

There is no “order” for healers. They all excel at different things.
And around half a dozen other dps specs, yeah.
