No you don’t get the point. You are arguing that essences aren’t needed if you want to succeed. Sure, people who are already good at their class won’t need them, but it definitely DOES help to get where you want easier/faster because you’re not at a disadvantage. Sorry, I’m not a casual like you and I can actually complete content instead of trying to create some kind of situational argument.
And no one is saying they are going to get outplayed by some 1700 bracket team.
At one point a player will be held back because they did not optimize their build. If someone wants to get on an alt and work toward getting into the competitive environment, they are now timegated by the essences on their alts. That’s why I advocate for catch up on said alts if the grind has been completed on their mains.
Pretty sure I said all essences aren’t needed on each toon. Pick the essences that are bis and do those. Your example was you having 5+ essences. That’s not needed on each toon. I get the Druid argument since it plays all roles but that’s the only class with all 4 roles and is not the norm.
we succeeded just fine before they were introduced, the reality is that depending on your spec you don’t need R3 on all or even most of your essences.
what makes you think you are better than a casual? for that matter why do you think casual is a derogatory term? the drive to push high rating/content and the skill to accomplish it are not directly linked.
That is essentially what you’re saying.
High rated players are going to get into their usual brackets regardless of their essences. None of them are going to be held back in some pleb bracket because they didn’t bother spending a couple days working for an essence upgrade.
You must also be a casual. You’re probably the same kind of person that looks at the word “nerd” as an insult as if I just told you I’m going to drown your pets.
casual is relative, the irony here is that i was beating far harder games before most of the tweens throwing “casual” around as an insult were born. you can make world wide R1 in a game and a year later nobody cares, 5 years later nobody even remembers that game, and 5 years after that the servers aren’t even online anymore. go through that a few times and you realize that there is no point in bothering with being one of these “hardcore” players who max out every possible thing there is to max out. its better to just play to have fun.
Except in WoW’s case. The addicts have kept this one going for way too long… now they are getting Class ic back as if that was something that was missed… Class ic i still cant get it out right
Yea that’s my point. You are held back more by playing an underpowered spec than you are the essence you use. Again, arena may be different since it’s not objective based pvp other than kill them before they kill you.
