I’m experimenting with Frost Mage. I notice I have to cancel my Frostbolt to cast Flurry. But that’s time wasted right there.
It would be better if Brain Freeze has 2 charges, so that you could keep spamming Frostbolt without having to cancel and waste time.
I don’t think you should be doing that. If you get a proc while casting frostbolt send the flurry immediately after the cast finishes and it will hit the target before frostbolt.

Can you explain a bit more, please? Do I wait on my Frostbolt to see if it procs?
#showtooltip
/cast flurry
/cancelaura frostbolt
or press escape and immediately flurry into an ice lance for big dam

I’m not a Mage main so take all of this with a grain of salt. From my time playing Frost you spam frostbolts and when you get a flurry proc you send it right after the frostbolt and the flurry proc will hit first and “freeze” the target letting your frostbolt that is in the air benefit from the bonus to crit etc… The devs designed the spells to travel at different speeds so you can do that. You don’t ever want to be idle and not casting if you can help it. Of course in PvP that’s not walways the case, but from a pure dps PoV that’s how it should be.
edit: also this should prevent procs from being wasted as you used it before FB hit so when the new one hits you are free to gain another proc

it depends on pve or pvp. In pvp and you have the shatter honor talent, if you brain freeze flurry after you frostbolt, your frostbolt will shatter on the 2 charges of winters chill and you ice lance the last stack of winters chill. but in pve, if you frostbolt first into the brain freeze, you might trigger a fingers of frost and waste a stack of winters chill.
