Too much walking

This is yet another reason I’m rolling night elf.

The first being I want to play an Alliance druid…

I rather actually get abilities that I can learn over time and get good with versus having everything handed to me then expect to play in raids/dungeons on limited knowledge of how they interact.

So your lack of knowledge of the game led you to waste 25 minutes? Sounds like a good learning experience. Some times it’s worth it to just take res sickness, pick a FP, hearth, get something done in the city quick, and head back out.

You ever die to the moss creeper mobs in tanaris and then run back to your body just to res and get another one aggroed on you from behind a cactus and it roots you and you die again just to repeat the run?

Fun times!

Never had that happen, but could be a Range Vs melee thing.

Probably would have take more time than the 10 minutes for it to wear off.

Worst GY walk I ever experienced in WoW was in early TBC in Blades Edge Mountains.

Back then, if you died in the level 70 quest area on the middle left of the map, you rezzed at the GY on the bottom left.

As the crow flies, that was indeed the closest GY. But to get there as a ground-bound ghost, you had to literally run through every section of the zone and traverse the entire map. It was like a 25 minute gy run. Awful!

Blizzard heard the complaints and fixed the respawn point to a much closer to get to GY in a patch.

I like how in retail the mere idea of having to take a rez sickness is a mental breaking point for people. If you roll on a PVP server and you run into some bored enemy faction players, good chance you will find yourself taking resurrection sickness just to end the ganking session that you can’t seem to get away from. Not having flying and 1.5 second mount usage timers is brutal.

Ask a shaman about the original totem quest chain that had them running the length of the barrens multiple times.

There were places where if you fell off Teldrassil, you wouldn’t even have a corpse to return to. You’d just fall off the world. Not sure if bug or feature.

Tbh i appeared at spirit healer in darkshore and started running and felll off a cliff. It was all bananas from there

lol rip, well im glad you eventually ressed

i use to gy hop so i could get flight points way ahead of time. was a fun challenge. so much so i tried to do the run to northrend dalaran from valiance keep in borean tundra, as a level 14 hunter. died something like 46 times, most of the deaths occuring by angmar’s hammer and the crystal vice in dragonblight.

by the time i got there, my armor was in total disrepair (all red), so i decided to see if i could get to argent vanguard, where i knew there were mobs constantly rushing the gates, who would then be slowly killed by the guards. as i was told that explosive fire trap was unresistable and mob level didnt matter, i knew i could plant traps by the gate, and be able to loot the mobs after the guards killed them. sold the junk, repaired my gear, and hearthed back home with more gold and xp than i had when i started.

silly? yep. fun challenge? no doubt. got all the flight points along the way too.

You couldn’t even make the walk back irl even if there were no enemies.

Ill be waiting at stone talon, if your on a pvp server.

And its not even the hour long, 100% broken gear version.

I would love to see a game where the world is so large that it would take you literal years to travel from one place to another. That’d be awesome. There would be whole cultures on servers that you would never experience.

dont play classic if you dont like walking…lol.the only 2 classes that had more then walking were hunters and shamans ghost wolf.

…speed walk

So many lessons learned. Sounds like you are now a more qualified vanilla explorer.
