I was running the above referenced Storm’s Wake quest today, and noticed something that I do not understand …
For those who are unfamiliar with it, collecting Barbedclaw Flanks (from Barbedclaw Grizzlies) is one of the quest requirements. Just killing the bears is not enough; the corpse has to be looted in order to collect the flank.
Yet numerous times today, I was fighting a bear, and another player joined the fight, making for an easy kill. However, the other player did not appear to loot the corpse, as I could not skin it afterwards.
Is there some point (perhaps for different classes) to killing the bear and NOT collecting the required item? Could the other player be using an add-on that ONLY collects quest items, leaving other things untouched, or is this some kind of anti-skinner behavior?
I’m really curious about this, and would appreciate some insight.
Probably someone that does not read the quest text on the side of the screen. Or maybe they are the kind of person that does not want to “clutter” up their bags with grey items. Meh, I like selling those as it gives me a little bit of money. And I like even that little bit, as it adds up over time.
It’s possible they weren’t on that actual quest and didn’t need to loot. Or they don’t have auto-loot selected and just loot the items they need. I never ascribe sinister motives without cause. If it happens again, you could try whispering the player and ask if they wouldn’t mind looting so you can skin. They might refuse, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
No no no… He’s clearly part of the ASL (Anti-Skinning League) and has been tracking the OP for months… Now he’s finally caught up to him and will plague his skinning time for the foreseeable future! The OPs heinous crimes against Azeroth’s furry friends have finally come to an end!
