Too much "stuff" on my map at all times

You have these gorgeous maps in-game, but with all of these objectives, markers, quest-givers, everything, it actually not only covers of that beautiful artwork, but also makes looking at the map feel very stressful. It gets way too busy-looking.

I may be in the minority on that, but I’m a big believer in less is more. Fewer, more meaningful quests, rather than hundreds of little ones, but particular for the map, it’s honestly just hugely distracting.

I just wish we had a little more control over what’s on the map at any given time. For example, if I’m not interested in pvp quests, the ability to remove them from the map would be welcome.

A more complex issue is the “overlapping” nature of a lot of quests as an expansion goes on. When I bring a fresh alt into Valdrakken now, I’m getting stuff from when DF first launched, and when the Forbidden Reach opened up, and now the Dreamsurge things- all at once, like a time crash in Doctor Who. I don’t have an easy answer for this, as obviously slogging through all of it in order again would SUCK, but a cleaner, tidier way to pick and choose would be welcome.

It does seem like I’ve been able to remove a few more icons from the map. But I’d honestly prefer to be able to remove everything, and only have the map itself up. The artwork for those is so gorgeous, and I think it feels more immersive.

I also hate the little “capital city” icons with generic Horde and Alliance icons. For one, those should be unique to each capital, but also they’re just a bit distracting. Same for the ability to remove the arrow showing yourself. Not as the default, but I’d like to actually be able to lose myself in the world again.

Came back to retail wow cause of hardcore, there was so much stuff on my screen on login that i just 180’d and left

You are not, it’s a “can’t see the forest for the trees” kind of thing.

It’s hard to find a destination at times because it’s covered with crap.

{Looks at my map and sees a handful of WQ’s and a few POI’s.}

If your map is full of crap then you should spend some time looking at the options on the map screen and turn off all those things you don’t want to see.

They should probably just add a quick option to “Show/Hide All” for the map tracking.

The maps are often beautiful to look at anyways, and are immersive to boot. I’d almost say they should remove the “window” around it and scale the size of it up.
