Too much restriction on launch

The launch of 11.2 could have been better.

  1. The main story time gating felt unnecessary and very short. There is a balance to be struck before it becomes a grind. The Story quests individually progressed the goals of the story which was good. However, there was still issues during questing where competition for spawns created awkward windows of wasted time.
  2. Weekly lock outs for M0 on a week with no M+ feels feels unnecessarily prohibitive. Why there are lock outs for m0 at all anymore is open for debate. M0 are only relevant during initial gearing for launch or new characters. If champion gear is going to be freely acquired a week later when bountiful delves and M+ release why does it matter to prevent people from farming M0 in the first week. Before people attempt the raid they will likely farm all of the champion gear they need anyway, its just forcing people to play excessively for the first couple for days of the second week when that frenzy to get the right gear could have been spread over the first week.
  3. Bountiful delves not being available for the first week share largely the same discussions as restricting M0.
  4. The net result is on the day of the launch for 11.2 the numbers surged and then tapered off again as people realized they had no meaningful content to keep them occupied. The real grind would start in a week with more to do and even less time to prepare which aggravated most of my community of guild and friends.
  5. I recommend daily resets for M0 going forward and opening bountiful delves for week one. I also recommend extending the available story line, although I understand if the raid story instance stays locked until raid release.

There were so many restrictions I got bored.

So decided to find a way to occupy my time and I built a pocket universe. In said pocket Universe I store Alliance captives in glass cages. Its genius because they don’t try and Escape because there’s nowhere to go.

If you get the reference reply in a fun way

Yeah gating sucks but it’s part of the game now.

How you do feed a 1000 hungry puppies?

You don’t give them a pile of food, they’ll gorge themselves, feel sick, throw up and have nothing left to eat.

Gamers have no self control, just like hungry puppies…

I think the game is thin on new content for S3, I also think housing has taken a lot of dev time and effort, so I’m saying that’s the reason.

I like the new story and zone and all.

The worst part of the gating is a limit on crests - once again. It feels awful and always has.

At least to me. Removing the cap on how many I could receive at the end of season 2 felt like freedom. I could run as many dungeons as I needed to fully upgrade any gear I received. And it was so many dungeons lol. It was fun.

Yeah but I think the alternative is worse.

M+ lock outs or drastically less gear. Probably tied to much higher m+ levels needed.

Yeah you’re right about that. Didn’t think about what would happen as a result to slow us somehow anyways :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It would just be balancing vs other game modes.

Yes, its intended to slow us down, thats how MMOs work. I dont think any MMO wants you to be able to complete 100% of everything opening week then unsub for 6 months.

I wouldn’t leave but I get it! :two_hearts:

Just seems no matter how they cut it, it’s a lot of grinding and running stuff no matter how slow they make it anyways. I probably ran 300+ dungeons last season. Granted I had a bunch of extra gilded built up by the end.

The no-lifer’s have never been good for the community at large.

Blizz realized long ago that metering the pace of play to closer to the average player keeps more people playing longer.

The no-lifers (addicts) will moan about gating but they will never leave because, well, addicts.

Awww, you called me a hungry puppy.

Well sort of, I’m this puppy:
Legendary · Minion · Into the Emerald Dream · Rush, Windfury Deathrattle: Deal damage to all enemies. (Improves after this attacks!)

I have zero to do. Logged in and basically did every new world quest that popped up today. This lead in week to the start of the season is awful. Even Delves don’t drop any actual gear. If they do. None has dropped for me. I am capped on crests and valor with nothing to spend any of it on.

So bored to tears already with this new patch.

I understand the limits on higher crests, but honestly uncapping weathered crests would help people catch up. You can craft a 675 piece with 30 weathered crests and for a fresh alt it would be nice to make a full set to get into mythics.
