Too much misuse

Downvotes and upvotes shouldn’t exist on a forum, imo.

When my post gets buried, I always try and apologize to the community as I think to myself okay whatever I said I took it too far.

If it helps this is a general rule; if making a thread about lore characters like Sylvanas, try and make a disclaimer that it’s all in good fun before getting into the post, though saying “this isn’t another simp thread” also seems to stop it from getting flagged.

Also if talking about political issues like corona in the odd thread that comes up, don’t say anything that’s too pro or anti-vaccination, it’s best to keep your opinion on such issues to yourself. Also don’t post your nutty Christian inspired pro-Trump conspiracy theories.

A few other things I been flagged for were mainly things that were minor comments that I think were simply taken out of context, and didn’t come across in the way I meant, when I see something has been flagged, I go to the post re-read it again, and delete it myself.

I have found though that when I make a pro-Sylvanas thread, they have a nasty habit of being flagged, but then the moderators give me me some leeway and bring them back lol I do admit I am trying to post and word them in a way that avoids people feeling they have to flag them in the first place.

With every other post I’ve had that’s been buried I’m like okay, I can see how that could have offended someone and try and fix it.

Add a new option when reporting a post, “I don’t like this post”, but make it so it doesn’t actually do anything, like the close door button on an elevator. It’s silly, but it might help.

I just wanted to say that I don’t like your post Feronar.

This is because just telling people that you don’t like what’s being said, well there’s a lot of what one likes/doesn’t like and I don’t think how personal preference is relevant for moderation.

That would require Activision to pay full time forum mods.

That’s why I prefer to do business with non profit organizations, non profit corporations, and Cooperatives.

If the corporation is for profit, at the very least it needs to be strongly unionized.

What’s this, unions still exist? To me there are so few of them I hear about it, and such low membership, that there seems little point to them anymore.

These to me exist in name only, in reality they are out to make a buck like everyone else.

In the private sector, they’ve nearly been totally wiped out. In the public sector, they’re still going strong.

If you like having workers rights, good pay, and bargaining power against your employer, a govt. job and a union goes a very long way indeed.

In the private sector you’re nothing more than a disposable pawn.

The last thing we need is for Blizzard to have to hire a department to have a discussion with every player who wants to put in a report.

Nope. That should never be a report function. Reporting is for breaking the actual CoC of the forums, not because you don’t like something. If you don’t like it, then ignore it or use your words. Kinda like my reply to you.

But in public sector you have to do whatever governments tells you.

In the private sector you can be fired for any or no reason. In a govt. job with a union, you can only be fired for a handful of reasons, and only if the Union agrees to it. These reasons will be outlined in your employment contract.

Yeah but if the reason is that they found out you voted for Donald Trump, you’re out the door.

In a private corporation they can do that to you. In a govt. job they must follow the constitution when dealing with your employment, thus political reasons for firing are not legal.

Dislike button was fine. It was fast, efficient and effective.

A lot of times no additional words are needed. Particularly when alk the arguments have been heard and repeated ad infinitum

Annnnnd the OP’s rather innocuous post — is flagged. Of course. Lol. Jeeze what is it with people.

Not only that, this is like the 3rd or 4th incarnation of “Blizzard Forums” that have existed since 2004. I only know because they showed clemency to banned accounts when the 2nd generation forums were introduced, but not the 3rd. I’m not actually certain about the number. I stopped reading them for a good 8-10 years.

Who could have predicted this would be flagged into oblivion?
