Too much forced questing at max level

I don’t enjoy questing, but I enjoy dungeons, raids, BGs, and arenas. Since I enjoy most of the activities in Shadowlands, no I’m not going to quit just because I don’t enjoy questing. Questing is a means to an end when leveling up for me, but once at max level it would be nice to get things such as renown, attunements, and content unlocks through activities other than questing.

A few short quests here and there is fine but back n forth between covenant hub and Oribos is boring and an obvious waste of time. I like the option of doing World Quests since it gives me a reason to go out in the world, but it is overdone and when I’m tired of taxi-ing around the map, it would be nice to have the option to obtain the rewards through other activities.

I am a classic player and I’m trying retail. Much of it is nice and enjoyable, but the forced questing is overboard. The reason it feels forced is I need renown and the only way is to do a huge long quest chain. There are long quest chains at max level in classic but they’re mainly pitstops between dungeon runs, which breaks up the monotony. Farming renown seems similar to farming rep… and tabards that awarded rep were a nice way to get rep through means other than daily quests back in the day.

An example of choice of activity is currently in TBC classic where you have two options to farm Shattered Sun reputation: run the dungeon or just do the daily quests every day. You can even choose to run dungeons a little bit and do daily quests a little bit. In wrath it was even better by having a tabard so you’re not farming the same dungeon. This kind of choice would be nice to have when it comes to getting renown or any other thing required to progress. The game isn’t about questing for everyone.

Once you have one character at 80 renound, you can visit the guy by the flight master in Oribos. He sells account bound tokens that give another of your characters 60 renound.

He also sells a token that will give you all the covenant conduits at lvl 200.

Grinding rep to reverend in ZM will give you access to a vendor there that can upgrade those conduits to 239.

Blizzard wants us to run the stories once, after that shortcuts and skips kick in.

I’m not sure that there are really that many quests at max level. The campaign quests are clearly marked, you can do those (which are quick) and skip all the side stuff.

Have fun!
