I am running around Ardenweald and I must say the mob density is insane. Have any of these developers gone on a hike? You don’t see a gazillion critters all around covering every second square inch.
Seriously, what happened to realistically designed, immersive zones like Howling Fjord, Grizzly Hills that emulated the verisimilitude of real life? Not to mention, these zones were way more fun to navigate.
In SL I have to pray my splash damage doesn’t aggro some of the dozen neutrals moshing around with me.

Give them awhile they’ll put more in as they did in the past just muck up players alts.
- Get anti dismount item for mount equipment
- Use the roads
Never have to worry about mobs again.

Yes this. The leather barding whatsitcalled is basically mandatory until flying. It’s the water strider of mount equipment.

That’s not what he wants ,he wants more mobs.

Dismounting is not an issue… Annoyance and breaking of immersion however is.
We are in a world full of death…how is being in danger in it as a living being breaking immersion?

I mean, there’s probably a few hundred critters per square foot out there in the real world.
You just aren’t good at seeing them.
No one is in danger… just annoying and immersion breaking.
That’s fine. My characters aren’t bugs with laser vision either. I shouldn’t be seeing so many neutrals.

I’ll have to remember this post ,the next time I’m fishing and a person runs by with a mob of baddies behide him.
Mobs?
Oh, I see, just another person that doesn’t experience the joys of stealth.
Just get the Mount Equipment that makes you immune to dazing, and you too can ride past mobs with nary a problem in the world.
Never has wow emulated real life lol. If that was the case you’d only see certain animals at night, you’d see like 2 squirrels and 1 deer per day. But yes I agree some of the zones are a little excessive.
You never play BFA? Or Legion? Or Wo… no actually WoD was not too bad. This expansion is a god send compared to some previous ones where you are forced to either spend too much time killing, or too much time walking around, or what some of us done and didn’t play.
Even though most of the posters here are solving a problem you don’t have. I don’t even use mount equipment and rarely get dismounted.
I get what you are saying op. But this is the way the current development team does things.

I do feel like Ardenweald is super small; maybe it’s due to the lack of annoying terrain like in Revendreth or Bastion.
Maldraxxus is at least 70% areas you don’t wanna go in unless there’s an important quest/WQ, so that also adds to the feeling of size.
Revendreth is complex enough, and has enough variance to at least feel like a large zone. I wish we had a zone like this that wasn’t so damn dreary, though.
Bastion would fill that, except for the fact that its complexity doesn’t have elevators. I love the roads here, but I also get a similar vibe to Maldraxxus where there’s places you just don’t care to go most of the time.
Ultimately, I don’t know if this is relevant to what the OP is talking about, but I wish there was more variance in ‘area types’ within these zones without secluding it behind ridiculous amounts of mobs. Again, Revendreth (at least in my mind) is the only zone to be somewhat successful here.
I love how Arden/Bastion look, but navigating them can seem incredibly boring.

Hah. Ardenweald is barren compared to Revendreth! It’s wall to wall enemies in some of those areas.

That’s a nice mount you have their lad… be shame if someone… dismounted it.
Oh wait… you mean NPC mobs… my bad…hic!
Mob density is always fun when you are doing a wq in a elite area. The group all leaves and you phase back to your server cluster as you are still working your way out.
