Too late to start?

Draenei aren’t that popular. People may play them in the very beginning, but it will quickly fade.

Shaman is also a more ‘min max’ class in TBC. And min max players will disproportionately go horde.

With regard to Paladin, it will be pretty close.

did you know they have heroic presence and that gift of the naaru is effected by spellpower in tbc?

I could totally see this being true.

Content creators and Streamers will hype Seal of Blood, BM Hunters, and Warlocks so much that it’ll become a self fulfilling prophecy. Same that that happened in the months leading up to Classic launch.

i see trees in your future. or as i affectionately called them - celery stalks. hehe

There’s likely only a few months until TBC. No one’s going to still be playing classic then.

This is how I’d look at it as well. Personally I’d wait for fresh servers unless I was getting in to prep for TBC.

Paladin’s have never been that popular. Shaman’s will never be bottom half on any faction. Putting horde warriors over mages, priests, shamans and rogue is insane.

TLDR: Basically none of that makes sense

There is no world where ret paladins are ever better than warriors. I’m sorry…

Not at all. That is why I love Classic.

When Burning Crusade comes out, it is my understanding that to Stay in Classic, subscribers will need to transfer character/s to a classic server. I am not 100% sure if this is correct, but this is what my understanding is as of last week.

At this point your are better off waiting the 2 weeks to find out what blizzard plans are. After the announcement there plans for the future are probably the biggest question people want answered. Not answering it would be a pretty terrible move on there end.

I mean are we even sure they’re going to allow transfers? Seems like alot of people are against this.

I just started a few days ago on a fresh server and am having a last.

what server?

Are you sure? Because all I’ve been hearing is that Warriors and Rogues take a pretty big hit to DPS in TBC, even with Glaives.

i was pally aoe leveling in tbc. i’d have like 5+ mobs. and they didnt have to be undead.

If you’re a “retail kid” you’re probably used to playing solo for the most part. While there are some quests in classic designed for group only, they can be largely ignored while leveling. Plenty of questing to do be done to level solo to 60. Finding groups for dungeon can be done, but not nearly as easily as when classic first launched. I just recently hit 60 on another alt, didn’t do a single dungeon and just quested/grinded the whole way on my own.
If this appeals to you, you may find some entertainment in classic right away. You can begin leveling a toon now for the inevitable TBC release. There are still guilds recruiting on larger servers looking for leveling players and you can start to build relationships with people now to get into early raiding in TBC. While many on these forums look down upon GDKP’s, at this stage of the game many good items in MC/BWL are pretty affordable to fresh 60’s who saved money while leveling. My alt hit 60 with nearly 300g and 60% mount. I consistently see things sell for 50-100g in the few MC GDKP runs I go in. Even saw a mageblade go for 125g the other day cuz no one really needed it and didn’t feel like blowing gold for it this late in the game. So you can definitely get decent upgrades for a fresh 60 to be ready for an easier time in TBC.

TLDR: It is and isn’t too late depending on what you’re looking for from the game. Want to just level a toon and be ready for TBC leveling? Go for it. Want to be AQ and/or Naxx geared before TBC? Ya, you’re too late.

It is too late.

Dungeons may be quite difficult to find while leveling, and even at 60 (no one needs them).

And PvP at 60 is a nightmare with Naxx gear out, if you are behind the curve.

Save your money.

I am on Atiesh - Alliance.

Going to restart again here later tonight or tomorrow. Tried doing a 2 box along with my son and it caused issues so trying a new combo…

They definitely do, at least early on. But that still puts them head and shoulders above rets, lol.

it doesnt necessarily have to be ret. could be prot. my experience with tbc pally was prot. repped up with sporereggar, got the shield from their quartermaster, slapped +block rating enchant on it and aoe’d my way to 70. hehe!
