TONS of shaman notes in this weeks alpha notes!

But they get cool Hearthstone animations with it, Astral Recall sadly uses the base 2004 animation, I wish they added some cool unique animation just for flavour.

Listen, I’m just as concerned as you, but false hope is better then no hope, I can’t see Blizzard leaving Shaman as it is moving in TWW, Talent Trees need Pruning/Adjustments, Visuals need updating, Defensive’s definitely need more and particularly we still now are the only class with no raid/group buff.

We definitely will get changed I’m sure later this week they will, Hunters are in the same situation really as us aswell, a lot of classes have been neglected so far, I’m sure things will get better.

No, they didn’t come til about two to three weeks after for just about every class. DK took over a month, I think maybe two? They had a note though. Regardless, the concern isn’t the hero talents coming out first, it’s lack of communication.

Am I missing something with DKs? AMZ matches to AG and brez matches to lust, but I can’t think of a buff they bring.

Yeah our dwarf totems look like they’re still in the cataclysm …

Warlocks also bring no raid buff. Unless you count the -20% attack speed which they both bring. But I think warlocks and DKs just both have such innate tankiness and irreplaceable utility

Warlocks bring health stones. Not a direct buff, but it can mean the difference between someone dying or living.

Dude they look like Vanilla totems somehow. I really wish we could get new ones. Why the hell did Draenei get a update but no one else? Kinda bs on blizzards part.

Death Grip is generally considered to be DK’s “raid buff” because there are always multiple fights per tier where having a grip is extremely useful if not mandatory (on mythic at least)

Looking at alpha’s resto and enh’s talent change, I don’t think dev has much intention of improving shaman. I don’t think the next expansion pack will have a place other than enh 1to for WFT either.

The funny thing is, they keep saying they’re listening to the DK and Lock’s feedbacks but they keep messing up those classes even more. Blood is still locked to DnD, and a bunch of other problems I don’t care about. It’s sad that Shaman is dead in a ditch, but kinda sadder that DK and Lock are getting all this attention that’s basically doing nothing for them.

Feeling completly ignored doesnt really encourage people to provide feedback tbh

You can kill most of the boss without raid buffs, there are some boss you simply cant execute without warlock gate.

We could goto fiver and ask someone to make totems would probably be quicker and better then whatever they are doing.

Look at the Vulpera’s make camp and recall using that at least you can make camp anywhere and not just a city but yea there is also that.

Vulperas have the most atrocious dps racial though

Oh man … I want a cool animation too!

Like some kinda swirling maelstrom of all 4 elements … and I actually want ours to work like the monk teleport used to … that puts you back where you were you know? That’d be the best … I wish they’d do it …

Ours is affected by haste though so there’s that …

Blizzard rarely says anything about anything. Their general policy is to stay silent because if they say things people interpret it all kinds of ways and if they say things sometimes then people will interpret their silence as saying things too. So, seems like they don’t say much at all or until they are close to doing something or know it is expected (e.g., everyone knew hero talents for shamans HAD to be coming).

So I don’t interpret their silence as meaning much one way or another.

On the other hand, maybe they have just left shamans for last and they wanted to get an early version of the hero talents out before redoing the regular trees so they could look at how each spec would play holistically in deciding how to change things. Some hero talent trees have been out since the beginning of the year so blizzard has had lots of time to think about revamps to classes that had their hero trees early. Shaman trees are just barely out and working.

I’m still hopeful we will see substantial changes. I think they focus on a certain amount of classes at a time and hunters/shamans are up last this time around (as opposed to being on the front end last time). There is still time in beta for substantial changes and it has happened to other specs in betas before. An advantage of coming last is that the design team will have learned things about their design philosophy/talent point budget, etc. from doing the other reworks and can apply their most evolved thinking to how they revamp shamans. It may have gone into their thinking w/putting shamans last since we got our trees very early last expansion cycle and it led to them feeling more dated than ones that were done later.

Many (correctly) interpret their silence as a complete lack of attention or iteration. Now that Beta is next week, this is pretty much the case.

Here we go again

That is never good, because doing a class last means no time for testing and iterrating on talents that don’t work/work well/perform well.

Warlock and Mage are getting what everyone wants. Changes early, changes often, constant attention.
